  1. Congratulations and best wishes to Mr and Mrs @VeryPC_Colin_M. (It did all go according to plan yesterday, didn't it?)
  2. I appreciate that there are valid arguments both for and against CCTV. However, I feel that the thread is drifting a little from Google Glass. My beef was about individuals capturing me on camera without my knowledge.
  3. Thought you'd like that.
  4. So you'd be happy if I stood outside your window taking photographs of you in your house, then posted them on the Internet? Perhaps we could install a live webcam in your bathroom. You're not doing anything wrong, so what's the problem. Obviously, I'm being facetious here. I have no problem with cameras, per se; I have problems with how cameras are used and who uses them. I'm happy to be caught on camera if there is a justifiable reason, not just at the whim of a passing individual to do whatever they like with my most personal possession.
  5. Maybe I'm just not 'geek' enough (EduLuddite, perphaps?) but this is the kind of thing that makes me want to go and live in a forest away from civilisation and it's wondrous technology. It's bad enough that it's become so easy for people to take your picture or video you on their phones without you knowing about it. If wearing cameras on your face becomes the norm, I'm outta here!
  6. Yaaay! Congrats guys and gals.
  7. Rock 'n' Coal
  8. How about 'Beats & Burgers'? What kind of music concert is it and what age are the pupils?
  9. Does anyone know a way of altering/disabling the automatic 'Save Draft' feature in Outlook WebApp? Currently, when creating a new email, it is automatically saved to the Drafts folder every 60 seconds. In itself, this is a useful feature. However, if you are in the middle of entering an email address in the To: Cc: or Bcc fields, it adds a semi-colon rendering the email address incorrect. I posted a similar question earlier in the week but got no replies. I have since found out that it is the autosave feature that is causing the problem.
  10. What?? Along with the TWO prizes you've already won? Some people are just never satisfied.

    World Cup!

Sorry. Someone told me that they were. My bad. (Still funny, though!)

    World Cup!

Only just found out that England are out of the World Cup. That makes the front cover of the current edition of Private Eye even funnier.
  13. Picture the scene - They call the prosecution witnesses and, one by one, the members of the jury take to the stand.
  14. Just installed 14.1 on my laptop. First indication is a negative, although it could be something to do with our setup here.
  15. Hahahahahahaha! This is Smarttech we're talking about here. Any idea if this version will work correctly behind a proxy?
  16. Go for it, @Miscbrah! We all expect a blow-by-blow blog of the project.
  17. We never got the software to run at all on Windows 7, not even in demo mode! (Although it may have been a previous version.)
  18. If you pause for an extended period* while entering an address in the To field of the Office 365 Outlook WebApp, it assumes you have finished typing and automatically adds a semicolon. This is causing a LOT of frustration for our Year 3 pupils who are just starting to use email. They get so far through, have to look at the address to copy it, try to find the letter on the keyboard... oops, too late. I'm sure this could also be an accessibility issue for people with physical disabilities, too. Any Microsoft bods on the forum care to comment? *Extended period can sometime be as short as 15 seconds. The cursor stops flashing after 10, although it doesn't always add a semicolon straight away.
  19. Thanks for that, but it's been there ever since I read the first post.
  20. Oh, no!! Not again! Although that does mean I'd also be able to relive the delight of discovering programming on our ZX81 (1Kb version) all over again.
  21. Western Business Systems in Blackpool provided ours, along with a motorised screen and audio. It's a Mitsubishi XD600u 4500 lumens. Been used every day for at least three years and still going strong on the original lamp. It also doesn't have a filter to clean. Good job as it's too high up to reach without scaffolding.
  22. Cooorrrr, DM!!!! Well it certainly won't be Terry Scott (RIP) voicing Penfold. The fact that it's not going to be a Cosgrove/Hall production also makes me think that it ain't gonna be anywhere near as good as the original. Sometimes you should just never go back.
  23. It's good, but it's not that good. I've no idea who Paul Ross is.
  24. For some reason, the 'Thank' button isn't showing - but thanks, anyway, @sparkeh.
