  1. Would you want standard users to be able to access the store, though? If the were on a domain, I'd set UAC so that only an admin account could install apps. I think our biggest problem would be the LEA filter blocking access.
  2. Just installed Start8 and I no longer have ANY issues with Windows 8.1. Of course, @Joanne, you could always dual-boot - if you felt the need.
  3. While I've left the rest of the domain on Windows 7, I've got 8.1 on my laptop now. After despising Windows 8 with a passion, the improvements that came with 8.1 made it worthwhile. There are still a few things that really annoy me, but overall I do like it now. I'm non-touch, so very rarely go near the metro side of things. I really do miss the 'Start Menu', though.

    New Work PC

Never mind as a workstation! That beast has better specs than our server!

    New Work PC

Sounds like my VeryPC Pocket Rocket 13" laptop. I also bought a 24" Benq Monitor and a keyboard and mouse so I also have a decent desktop outfit. EDIT: 2GB GPU and 3yr RTB warranty.
  6. Ah, I see! Previous page. ...and what @tmcd35 said.
  7. Belated birthday greetings!
  8. No. They're cobblers! Geddit?
  9. Current 'Thanks' tally - in the words of Bill & Ted - '69, dude!'
  10. Am I the only one who had an image like this come to mind at the mention of Imperial College? Congratulations, @Little-Miss!!
  11. Didn't realise we'd gone off topic! One of our teachers used 'Foux du Fa Fa' in their class assembly about France, along with 'Ca Plane Pour Moi' by Plastic Bertrand and 'Tour de France' by Kraftwork.
  12. They'll be too busy doing things like building and selling computers! Give them a chance, guys! It's still only the 4th of June!
  13. MFL just HAS to be 'Foux du Fa Fa' by Flight of the Conchords! Pure genius!
  14. I'm so glad this poll has come up. We have a completely wired infrastructure at the moment, but need to look into WLAN and mobile devices as part of our school development plan. I was talking to the net-ctrl guys (and @Domino) about Ruckus at EDIT2014 last week. Looks like it's getting the thumbs up from a lot of people here too. That was the impression I got from Meru, too. He spent quite a lot of time talking about it's capabilities, but ended with a 'but realistically...'.
  15. Hello, everybody, and welcome to Skive-a-day June!!
  16. D'oh! Why couldn't you have done the other kind of editing; the kind where you edit out @HC_Netman's avatar and replace it with mine? Thanks for another month of merriment and mayhem. Roll on Stocktob3r!
  17. The tension mounts as we enter injury time.
  18. If one of the new guys who only signed up yesterday wins... Grrrrrr! Just kidding. Good luck, everyone! EDIT: And, yes, I can use the gender specific 'guys' as @Little-Miss was the only female attendee yesterday, and she's been in on it from the start!
  19. Why settle for the moon when you can reach for the stars? (Me too, tbh!)
  20. Right! I'm in school at my VeryPC laptop with a cup of nettle infusion in my VeryPC mug waiting for the VeryPC Prize-a-Day May video in which @VeryPC Al draws my name out of the VeryPC Broadleaf One chassis, declaring me the winner of the VeryPC Nano Silent. You wouldn't want to disappoint me now, would you?
  21. Cheers! See you on the other side!
  22. Hey, it's a nano! I don't NEED space.
  23. How big a bit is 'a bit later'? I was just getting ready to go into school for a bit. Should I wait, or will I have half an hour or so to get there and fire up a pc?
  24. Thanks for all the kind (@sparkeh?) comments about my facial follicles. It's all in a good cause. I'll be mugging you all for donations later in the year when I do 'Should I Shave or Should I Grow' round 2. You saying something about my trumpeting abilities?
