  1. To be honest, i'm not sure Muz. I know we have had cert issues and this was a fix that worked for us. If you go to start - run (or windows key + R) and type MMC. A box should appear. Click File, then Add & Remove snap in. Select Certificates in the list, then Add, then OK. In the tree, expand Certificates, look under then folder Personal. No entirely sure it will help but worth a shot. Also, ensure that the Time and Date are correct on the laptop If all else fails, could you not uninstall any AV software / disable windows firewall completely to eliminate that from the cause?
  2. Check certificates? Connect to the WAP, Run MMC and add Certificates, then personal certs, make sure that none have expired? Delete any that have, run a gpupdate and restart.
  3. Have your tried installing on another PC/Laptop to see if you get the same error?
  4. I don't think you can bitlocker using GP, but im pretty sure you can using SCCM

    PXE boot

Are you pressing the correct button at boot, to boot from nic? Can you get to a boot menu to enable you to select the nic?
  6. I had this occasionally. I re-created the staff member in AD, moved them in to correct OU and gpupdate /force their machine. Picked up the proxy without problem.

    VNC Windows 7

    RealVNC or Teamviewer
  8. If the above fails - re-install motherboard drivers or look for BIOs updates that may have been missed
  9. It looks like you need to go into disk management and activate the drive... and then try to partition it (format). You wont be able to get the data off it mind :S
  10. Hello - Yes I had this issue a few times in my last job. Basically I created a printer policy, and over time (maybe a few days) different printers on the network that were installed to our server would appear on PCs who didn't have them mapped. What I did was, created seperate printer policies for each printer / photocopier. I also then included the remove option, and removed each printer that I didn't want to appear in that same GPO. So for example, within my printer GP, I had Printer 1 set to update, printer2 - delete, printer 3 delete. On my second GP, I had printer 2 update, printer 1 delete, printer 3 delete. This seemed to fix my issue. This wasnt a huge amount of work for us, as we only have 4/5 photocopiers If all else fails, check permissions and make sure you are applying the printer GP to the correct OU
  11. Just tell her its not possible, and if it was, there would be a massive security issue possibly violating school policy
  12. VPN or DirectAccess. Google it - there are some real easy guilds online
  13. Clutching at straws here ... but you could check the sync center settings. I think you can set conditions when the files sync back to the server, e.g. when the PC is inactive. If its syncing manually both ways then I reckon its probably this kinda setting?
  14. wow...
  15. Screwdriver!
  16. Sounds like your second connection to the sat has been damaged / faulty. Could check cables if you can and also connection to the lmb.
  17. MSI + GPP = Easy life!
  18. Sounds like a gfx card problem then... Have you another you can try? Sorry just read your reply - its on board. Do you have the most up to date drivers?
  19. If the monitor is working with another computer, maybe its the VGA lead / DVI lead. If you have both ouputs on the monitor might be worth swapping them (e.g. if you currently have a vga plugged in, try using a dvi instead). Do you have a gfx card installed? or is it all on board? Could be heating issue too ;D
  20. Check your gps! Or run gpresult and see which gps are applying to that machine and checking the settings.
  21. I have infinity - upgraded from a 10mb (probably about 6), BB in my old home. now hitting 40mb DL! its like christmas!
  22. If all else fails - create a new acc for him?
  23. In which case - make sure the PC is connected to the domain / network and if not, when you do have it connected, make sure you do a gpupdate /f to ensure the polices update.
  24. Hi David, The most obvious one: check the username and password are correct and that you / user are typing them correctly. You could try resetting the users password just to make sure you are getting it correct. Find the user in AD, right click, reset password. Maybe just try something simple like 123456. Also ensure you have the username correct which you can also see in AD. Also make sure when your entering a username / password that you don't have any gaps at the start/end. If all else fails, might be worth checking the keyboard on that computer. If other domain users can login, it cant really be a PC problem. If the user has logged in before, login as local admin, go to regedit, and find there local acc if they have one and delete it.
  25. I'm pretty sure Chrome uses the same proxy/connection settings as IE, BUT chrome takes forever to detect them. Hense why sometimes (if you change any connection settings) you are better to open IE first and then chrome.
