    With SIF2MOODLE we are looking much close communitcation with parents, establishing 3 way communication between student, teacher and parent. Are you looking to do it in-house or purchase something off the shelf?

    Hi Chris, I have fixed the flyer link. We are using SIF to connect to SIMS and CMIS. Moodle and SIMS.net are third-party product handling sensitive data and SIF2MOODLE is an extension of moodle so would forsee and issues.

    SIMS2MOODLE is not available for download it come as part of an onsite installation and support package.

    The information is pull from sims every hour and push into moodle. SIMS2MOODLE is open source. It comes with an installation and support package.

    Hi Dan, SIF does support Timetable data, we are working with the SIF Timetable Working Group on improving the timetable objects. What information do you need for the MIS and i will double check that are avalible in the standard.

    @geekulike What data do you want to pull out of SIMS.net? Are you wanting to develop custom application that use data stored in SIMS? We have done a lot of work in supporting SIF and using it to pull information from SIMS and CMIS. If you let me know what data you want to query i can tell you if SIF supports it. If it does we might be able to create a SIF agent that supports your need.

    Hi Dan, Have you though about support the SIF standard? This will allow you to support all the leading MIS's and only have to develop one insterface.

    SIMS2MOODLE uses command reporter to get information out of SIMS.net SIF2MOODLE uses our Moodle SIF Agent. SIF2MOODLE will superceed SIMS2MOODLE once released as it will handle parental engagement and reporting.

    I have created an alternative version that doesn't rely on direct DB access. We are nearing a release that supports SIF. A Demo of SIMS2MOODLE/SIF2MOODLE is avaliable at SchoolsICT's Moodle Demonstration

    If you can let me know your full requirements I can write it for you. If your ok with having the information stored in a csv file i will do it for free. if you wanted a more complicated version there might be a nominal charge because it would take longer.

    Hi all, We are in the process of designing the front end of our parental engagement and reporting block. We are looking into what schools want from parental engagement and reporting, as the becta guideline go so far, we would like to be able to better fulfil the spirit of the requirements. So how would schools (even LAs) like parental engagement to happen?

    @Danlewis3 It looks like Capita have modified the database. The version of SIMS and Moodle Integration you are using is not supported. Both Myself and webanywhere offer supported versions of SIMS and Moodle Integration. If you would like some more information PM me. Sorry i couldn't be more help.

    Hi Richard, Have you checked to see if the users are in the external db table and the associated id is in the idnumber field of there profile? is the course they should be enroled on a meta course?

    Hi witch, We are in the process of developing a new transport layer to allow data to flow from sims into moodle. can you ping one server from the other?
