Well, after getting home from work I have continued troubleshooting. The 'hard reset' holding power button down for 20 seconds trick didn't work, tried with original PSU and that made no difference. Still firing up with no beep and no display. I then stripped the whole system down and remade it outside the case using a screwdriver to jump start it. Also made no difference. So now I have just reseated the CPU and will try booting it again after I've eaten but I'm not holding out for it. So it appears I'm with either a fried board or CPU or maybe both. Which leaves me thinking, what caused it? If it was the PSU how can I test it/prove it caused it before I spend a small fortune buying new parts....?

I hope your wrong too. It was and had been fine. No instability or crashes. It's literally out of the blue.

It was around 2 weeks ago I rebuilt.

I would but I'm all out of thermal paste from when I rebuilt it! So would need to buy more.

I did, briefly, maybe not a whole 20 seconds though. Worth a shot later though, struggling to think what's caused this!

Already tried that. A few times, just to make sure haha.

I changed from a Corsair because the series the PSU was part of (CX) was poorly received by everyone. People said it was built poorly, the capacitors were rubbish. Hence why I went with the EVGA SuperNova G2 as it was very highly rated and reviews were giving solid high 4's some even 5 etc.

That's my next thing to try when I get home tonight. I did think it could be that, but seeing as it had been solid for 2 weeks and is a far superior PSU than the one I took out (Corsair CX600M) I sure as hell hope it isn't that. It also provides power to everything which also makes me think it's not that. But I maybe wrong!

Hi all, My PC all of a sudden out of no where no longer posts/boots Windows. 2 weeks ago I rebuilt my machine into a new case and also fitted a new PSU at the same time, seeing as I was stripping down I though it was a perfect opportunity. I rebuilt everything and the machine worked flawlessly for 2 weeks, then I powered it on yesterday after work, the PC powered on as normal BUT didn't post or load windows. All the fans came on, my GPU light came on, CPU pump light came on, keyboard lights came on but no mouse lights and screens just showed no signal then went to sleep.I rebooted, exactly the same thing. No splash screen or post boot beep etc. I'll list my specs below and then i'll explain what troubleshooting I've already done. Specs: CPU: i5 4670k - no overclockCPU Cooler: Corsair H100i GTX Motherboard: ASUS Z97-k RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16GB @ 1600MHz GPU: MSI TwinFrozr GTX970 Storage: 1x Samsung 840 120GB SSD - OS Disk 1x Crucial MX300 750GB SSD - Storage 2x 1TB HDD - Storage PSU: EVGA SuperNova G2 650W Case: NZXT H440 What I've already tried: Booting with no USB devices Booting with no USB, GPU Booting with no USB, GPU, 1x RAM Stick Booting with no USB, GPU, 1x RAM, no SATA's connected to board Booting with no RAM causes the board to beep and tell me about no RAM (good sign, I think) Reseating GPU + RAM Reset BIOS using jumper and battery out for 5/10 seconds. Nothing changed after doing all of above. No matter what I did the PC behaved the same. Powers on, fans and lights come on but no POST beep, splash screen.Only thing I'm yet to do that's simple is leave the CMOS battery out for a good 30mins before putting it back. If that then also fails, I'll take the backside off and make sure nothing like board stand offs have moved and are causing a short etc on the board. If both of those also fail it will be time to take the PC to bits again Anyone got any idea's before I maybe start taking all components out the case? Any help or advice will be greatly received.

I'm pleased that 'INSERT TEACHER NAME' had a full backup at home and that the now failed USB drive wasn't the only copy of their life's work.

I was thinking of something more along the lines of: Believe it or not I do actually really like my car and will stay as far away from other as possible. For the record I have only been in 1 accident since being an Audi driver, which ended up in someone driving into the back of me. I can park like everyone else and I also know how to use those things people call indicators??

This is uncalled for. I have had 2 Audi's in the last 4 years and you'd normally be able to get a barge in the gap between me and the car in front. #RespectTheSpecialFew. Anyway back to topic: "Policy Central is a joy to work with and so easy to manage!"

I'll go with kitchen roll and the TIM clean I've got! Air duster on hand for a quick blast when done before Artic Silver goes on. The new case will look awesomeee!

Hi all, What's the best 'cloth' to use when removing thermal paste? I know the general rule is lint free, but I don't have anything lint free at home. I've got a bunch of microfibre clothes lying around, would they do the trick or not? I've also got some Akasa TIM Clean to do the actual removal of the compound. Thanks

Just another +1 for 2 monitors. Although like others have said, once 1 person has 2 screens, the want will spread like a wild fire. We now have a 2 screen setup in most offices where staff are in there 90% of the day.

That being said I suppose one of those AOC G-Sync monitors only comes out slightly more than replacing both of my current monitors. As I wouldn't need 2 G-Sync monitors I could just use an original one as my 2nd screen....

G-Sync are mega £££ though!

Nice idea, but I'd miss my second monitor waaaaay to much! I don't think I could do without a second screen!

Hi all, I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on the whole "Gaming" monitors thing. I use my home PC mainly for gaming in my spare time, as you can see from the Specs in my sig, I've got it to a relatively nice spec. With Xmas deals more than likely on the way, I wondered if it was time to look at 2 new monitors. They are probably the only thing I haven't upgraded... I only intend to play at 1080p and currently have 2 1080p IPS monitors @ 5ms response times. So I was wondering if monitors they brand as gaming monitors would actually make any noticeable difference to my experience? I'm not looking to break the bank and go buy 2 ROG screens. I didn't know anything about this till seeing your post, but oh my this DLC has serious potential to be really good! I've not played the Division for months. I even picked up the season pass and I've played none of the first DLC drop. Might have to re-download it and try to get back into it as like you said, I too have heard good things about patch 1.4 and this new Survival mode only adds to the good vibes.

Secondary school here - we block pretty much anything we see, we were like you a little lenient, letting them play as long as it was only at break and lunch and as long there was supervision on hand. Kids went through a phase of trying absolutely anything to get on games during lessons though. So we just block the sites as soon as we see them now. Only games they can play are educational ones. MyMaths etc. They try and use .de/.us etc to bypass filter and sometimes it works but we will just add whatever they find. Finally realising they won't beat us now. We do have a Minecraft Edu. It's a lunchtime club. Only the same 6ish kids go though.

I did manage to sort this. Not with PS though. I did a search in the Exchange Portal against mailboxes that had a certain custom attribute set as 'staff'. This pulled through all staff mailboxes and you can then do a bulk assign of OWA polices from there. Just in case anyone else needs anything like this. The built in search saved me!

I tried that or be it with only selecting one mailbox (mine) and it doesn't show the OWA policies. I'm not sure why OWA policies aren't listed against the mailbox when you do a 'get-mailbox'. Am I barking at something that can't be achieved?

I'm trying to see which mailboxes in our Office 365 environment have OWA polices applied and which policy is applied. Doing a Get-OwaMailboxPolicy shows me a summary of the polices we have setup, which is great. But I want to run a query against all mailboxes to see which policy is applied against the mailbox. If you run a 'Get-Mailbox 'enter mailbox here' |fl' I can't see that it actually states which OWA polices are applied against the selected mailbox. Is there anyway to get PS to chuck this information out?
