Loved the audio book & will watch the movie but I'm expecting a different story. The trailer seemed to show the movie from beginning to end. (shuttle escape scene) I like that they've kept all the swearing.

The 6th form would like to use their own devices to print... Seems surprisingly difficult. The Sharp MX2640N offers USB direct printing (for sticks) and Airplay AdHoc. You'd think this would mean my troubles were over but not.... Airplay print is complicated by the fact that we have pin numbers enabled so you have to download the sharp APP, BEFORE you wifi to the printer (Printer on curric VLAN not Guest) Then use the app to search for the printer then go to the users settings in the app to enter a PIN then you have to use the app to select the document you wish to print. (ABSOLUTLY fing useless) USB Direct seemed to be a good answer, unfortunately during my testing I could NEVER get it to work correctly (basically took 2 minutes to acknowledge that a stick was in, 2/3 times refused to do so at all.) (various sticks tried NTFS is allowed btw) Just worse than not having the feature... OK after all that I need some kind of email printing solution, The printers are shared through a Server 2012R2 they need a pin number (which can be set in the default if needed as only the pupil account would need this feature.) If there is a M$ solution that'd be nice otherwise low cost:0

As above, the printing in metro is different from the desktop and as it offers none of the features required to successfully print. It actually stops all printing on the server (for that given printer). The job won't self remove, you can't delete it (typical windows crud of you can't delete a broken job until you fix it) and I have to reboot the server! Even resetting the spooler service won't clear the jobs... Argh! I need solutions.. I'm using Windows 8.1 with Sharp MX printers. (that require PIN numbers to print) ((Not offered in Metro)) Can I disable Metro Printing? Can I force metro apps to use the desktop printing method?

You could use KODI (XBMC) and some unofficial plugins that will allow access to the iplayer and youtube raw video and then use GPU accelerated streaming. But services like youtube only offer 720p in that mode. I'd recommend you put openelec on that box and see what does work for you.

A lot of video sources don't use hardware (or use very limited HW decoding) of the GPU so use the CPU to decode. I'm afraid the E-450 is a weak CPU.

I do have this, I replaced all my dwl-3200aps except one and they all work together fine. You just can't manage the dlink from the unify controller (durr) Warning: This is just a pointer, but if you are using wpa (not wpa2) on the dlinks you will have an issue with laptops that are joined to the network via the unify APs (as they will be wpa2) Windows doesn't mind going up but wont go down. Example: you joined a laptop to a dlink using wpa it will connect to the wpa2 aps with no issues, but if you joined via Unify on wpa2 it won't connect to the dlink wpa ap. if they're both wpa2 no problem.

you could use opendns they have a parental filter service (family shield) you'd just have to issue new dns settings via dhcp.

I have never seen a patch cable like this before. It must have found it's way into my inventory through some inferior product as I have only one. It was just kismet that I'd pick it up and use it on a core switch... I've never seen a 100Mbit only cable before... Ergh!

if you email their technical support with the serial number of any one of your boards they'll give you a link to the older version. Mine has never auto connected properly but the latest package fails to work with serial boards at all!

@localzuk I still don't get it? DNS is resolved locally (apart from the first time) how would the proxy or the load balancer determine how I obtained the ipaddress and whether to apply SSL interception or not. SSL intercept has worked for us, I would go to gmail and I could see the RM certificate.

@Boredguy yes we changed my workstation to the swgfl DNS servers .213 and .214 I think. Still resolves .19 (yes we flushed) Has anyone using the sslfilter checked to see whether SSLinterception is happening? Go to gmail and see the RM certificate? as that did work for me.

@localzuk I maybe don't understand how the swgfl filtering works I think they're fudging something maybe I don't know enough? How as I said above would the proxy server know what DNS entry I used to get it's address. It makes total sense that (sslfilter.) should Point to .19 for SSL intercepts. How could the proxy server know what I typed in to get it's address (as sslfilter.staffproxy and staffproxy are supposedly supposed to point to the same ipaddress and as this is resolved locally then determine whether I should have my SSL traffic intercepted? is their a DNS mechanism I'm unaware of?

yes, if I ping staffproxy.swgfl.org.uk I get .18 but if I add the sslfilter.staffproxy.swgfl.org.uk I get .19 (Which make sense, as I can't see how the server would determine what I typed in to get the address?) @Steve21 if you use the the SSLfilter proxy do you get bad RM certificates from google and the suck like? (which you should if you've not installed the RM certificate)

@Steve21 I think the external DNS has the bad record. No amount of flushing and resetting clients, DNS servers. clears the issue.
