  1. I do all of the following Choose network boot Machine gets IP from DHCP Machine gets a response from your WDS server You hit F12 You choose what to boot up (usually a boot or a capture wim) Select a capture image. Then Windows boot wim opens I select what I want to call the image and then I try and input the server name to save the image to, and it cannot find the server. I hit Shift+F10 and go ipconfig and it just comes back with "Windows IP Configuration" and no IP address. I loaded the setupapi.app.log and get the following:
  2. I boot the machine and go F12 and then choose the capture image. (I want to capture an image.) However once in there I get no IP. I don't understand how it could be a DHCP error. I imaged 16 machines last week no problem. (HPs) Not had any other DHCP errors recently either.
  3. Trying to deploy Windows 7 Professional 64 bit. It's not acquiring an IP address but will see if the driver is loading.
  4. Hi, We have a problem here with a network card driver when trying to image via WDS. The machine which is a HP Pro 600 G1 won't pick up an IP address which I have assumed is a network driver problem. We have other PCs on our network which are a range of makes and models and they image just fine. WDS is configured correctly and I have added the drivers from the disc HP supplied with the desktop to the WDS console. I have also tried the drivers off the HP website. We had a similar problem to some desktops we brought from HP at Easter, they were HP Pro 6300 desktops. After a lot of communication with their tech support, they sent a capture image just to be used for that model of machine that sorted the problem. At the moment with this case, we're a month in and HP are being very difficult about the situation and was wondering if anybody has come accross anything similar before and if so, what did you do to resolve it? Any suggestions gratefully received. George.
  5. Never had coffee either. Or tea.
  6. I use Ninite for the installation of a lot of software. It's free and easy too.

    Driver Issue

Thanks will do the BIOS update tonight. They would need at least another gig of RAM to go onto Windows 7. Currently got 1GB but a okish processor in them!

    Driver Issue

Happy New Year to everybody at Edugeek! Got 2 Fujitsu E3500 PCs just been reloaded with Windows XP. Installed the drivers from the Fujitsu website, however something isn't right. If I install the audio driver it asks me to insert the Windows XP SP3 disc, I do that but it never finds the files its looking for. It also does this with devices you plug in such as a iPhone or USB Internet Dongle. In the case of the USB Internet Dongle on a Windows 7 machine or another XP machine its fine, it finds the driver fine. Same with the iPhone 4S, I plug it into my Windows 7 laptop and its fine and it also fine when plugged into another Windows XP machine. This morning the network card died on both of them and I had to reinstall the driver. Any ideas? Corrupt installation of Windows? Would putting Windows 7 on there help? Any advice would be gratefully recieved. George.
  10. Okay thank you for that advice, I will do that! Yes, I will do this too! You make a good point. Thanks for all your advice!
  11. No, it's rather annoying. But I log my miles every time I fill up with petrol but yes it's annoying.
  12. Congratulations! Good luck in your new job!
  13. There is no curfew after 11pm, they just advise you don't drive between 23:00 - 04:00.
  14. Well I'm 18 and needed the car to get to work, so I had no choice really to have a black box because the insurance was just too expensive otherwise. In regards to location I'm in a small village in Bedfordshire, so I thought it would be cheaper because it's quieter than the big towns and cities. Thanks for the advice, I think I will just end up paying £200 for an extra 2000 miles!!!
  15. Hi everybody, I have a black box in my car so it logs everything I do whilst I'm driving. At the moment on the live portal (page to keep track of your driving) it says I have driven 2000 miles this year when it reality I have driven 5000 miles. My policy is 6000 miles and if I go over the 6000 miles I can pay £200 for 2000 more miles...Should I purchase more miles or keep driving until the portal says I've driven 6000 miles? I would like to keep on driving until it says I've driven 6000 miles on the portal but on the other hand I don't want to get a fine! Merry Christmas to everybody. George.
  16. Christmas background!
  17. Support runs out in April 2014 for Server 2003. If you explain to him that after this, there will be no updates etc then he should consider the move to 2008 R2 more...
  18. 64 bit on most systems here. Most systems have 4GB memory so it gets utilized. Still using 32-bit Office.
  19. Congratulations, hope you have a good day!
  20. You could create a seperate information store for the students on your exchange server, that way they're separate. If not, Gmail for Education is quite good. You could configure POP3 with the accounts so they can use Outlook.
  21. No worries, been having the problem here after upgrading to IE11 and thought it would help others.
  22. Logmein Hamachi is also another good free tool. Or Remote Desktop Web Services.
  23. If you have upgrade to IE 11 you may recieve the following error when trying to use RD Web access. Error: Resolution: First of all this fix ONLY works on RDS Gateway servers with 2008 R2 SP1 installed. If you try it on a server without SP1 it will get rid of the error but you wont see any remote apps. 1) Login to the RDS Gateway server 2) Open Up IIS Management Console. 3) Branch out the sites and then left click on RDweb. On the right hand side double click on HTTP Response Headers. 4) On the right hand pane now right click and select Add… 5) On the box that appears enter :- Now do a IISRESET on the server and you should be good to go.. Hope that helps somebody.
  24. For my PC, you need to have the Desktop Experience feature installed.
