  1. Anyone got 4.6 or 4.7 installed on Server 2019? I’ve got it installed but can’t login, not sure if I’ve messed up the sql server (tbh wasn’t that clean a testing server...) or its not supported. Cheers Andrew
  2. As a fully paid up member of the Number 1 Union myself, he was way ahead of his time. His positional awareness and reading of the game were and still are a lesson to many modern keepers, he maybe wasn't as agile as some of the top keepers these days (Pele save apart, you can't possibly have a spine to have saved that one!!) but he didn't have to be, like Shilton, Clemence and Schmeichel since, being in the right place at the right time made it look far easier than it actually is. Never met him personally but have seen many interviews with him over the years and he appeared a genuinely nice man. RIP
  3. Sorry for the thread crashing but just curious as thinking about the XG at the mo, how does it handle video storage for the cameras or does it still need a NVR as well?
  4. Morning all. Man Flu is seriously effecting my Google-fu this morning so apologies if this is hidden in plain sight.... For a multitude of reasons, trying to stop Chrome going full screen for students but can't see a setting in the Chrome .admx files to restrict this. Anyone know if this is this do-able either with GPO, reg key or sacrificial offering? Cheers Andrew
  5. We have an on-site two bedroom flat that used to be the previous site managers accommodation but when he retired 8 years ago the new site manager already lived 5 mins up the road so didn’t take up the flat option. Since then the flat is used for our university work placement PE students who live onsite and manage the sports hall for evening and weekend events.
  6. Ah, you live and learn!! I went straight from 1709 to 1809 so skipped any issues there might have been with 1803
  7. HI. Follow the start of this guide to export your current associations xml file https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/manufacture/desktop/export-or-import-default-application-associations Edit the associations if necessary and then use GPO to send that file out to all PC's HTH
  8. A school near us had one recently, the IT team never saw the inspectors (inspectors even came in with a 4G dongle for their own laptops so no need for wifi key) The school got grilled on safeguarding, lesson plans and policies and escaped with "Good" at the end of it
  9. Bit late to the party but we've started box watching "How to get away with murder" on Netflix https://www.netflix.com/gb/title/80024057 Cert 15 or 18 so NSFW but thus far (we are 8 episodes into season 1) it's very good. Whether it becomes a bit samey after a while remains to be seen....
  10. I’ve never known a BETT where so many people are walking round with the same cough/cold/throat. It’s the bug that just keeps on giving...
  11. I can be an extra body on the stand this morning if it helps?
  12. If you are thinking of doing the MCE exam then unlike the Office exams you can’t just turn up and wing it, you have to have read the 21st Century Learning Design document as 90% of the question are based on the rubrics. The document can be found here:- https://education.microsoft.com/GetTrained/ITL-Research It’s a tough exam, there have only been 3 passes in the first two days (my OH being the first one!!)
  13. It’s in Suite 19, right at the very end of the left hand side as you come out of the stairs at the top. Sat outside it now and people are dropping in and starting all the time
  14. Doesn’t surprise me, the whole self registration process has been buggy this year, even the print your badge email on Tuesday night 404’d...
  15. Hi The free version of PDQ Deploy can do this for you https://www.pdq.com/pdq-deploy/ Andrew
  16. Thanks for your replies - won't backup regardless of path or account used so have raised a ticket with Capita for them to have a look rather than me do something stupid...
  17. My SIMS has stopped backing up which is stopping me installing the Census patch so I need to get this fixed ASAP. Here is the error screen if I try a manual backup, any ideas?
  18. No difficult questions on the stand Saturday morning then....?
  19. Other than reporting the review to Google who will then ignore your request there is nothing you can do. Trust me, we've tried...
  20. I’ve got CCTV in all 5 of my IT labs and also in the Open Access area of the library. A few detentions early on and word got round, I have very little damage these days. And before anyone asks, before we did it we went to LT for permission and also spoke to the teachers on Inset day telling them we were doing it and that it wasn’t a management back door to monitor their teaching. They were surprisingly supportive!!
  21. Friday is now officially hug a @witch day
  22. Hi. It never left R&D for me but a school near me went for it and they claim that the teachers are fine with it and it works well....
  23. Ground and first floor in a 2 classroom front and 2 classroom back layout on each floor plus a reception and what is currently an IT "lab" on the ground with an addition 3 smaller one to one sized classrooms on the first floor and a common room. Apparently healthy really does mean healthy in this instance, I know why and how they are funded and the backers want it fixed regardless of cost but it has to be done right rather than just a salespersons dream of a customer.
  24. Correct, classes have a max of 3 students with some classes 1:1
  25. So... I've been asked via a friend of a friend what I would do for this school (other than a tragic overnight fire while it's empty and insurance claim...) Current Situation:- 25 students, 10 staff. 10 PC's in one classroom (which apparently are rubbish and not being used), 8 laptops (which apparently don't work and most have keys missing anyway) and 10 ipads, one for each member of staff (which do work). Nice fast internet connection, poor wifi coverage, one network printer, hosted SIMS, o365 accounts and google accounts, all storage on the cloud (which is full), three cctv cameras (but no-one knows how to view footage) and an external company doing support (one half day every 2 weeks) Requirements:- They want to start again, green field with the exception of the staff ipads which are fine. Would like to keep and use o365 (assuming there is a licence inplace for this...) but want a reliable solution for the IT lab, the laptops, storage, cctv etc (and I suspect dump the external company at next renewal) If this was yours, what would you do? There is a pretty healthy budget to put this right. I was thinking Unify for the CCTV and wifi which is easy and cheap enough. Chromebooks maybe instead of PC's and laptops? Something like Linux Schools Project as a back engine? Your thoughts/suggestions? Andrew
