How complicated are they?

Ithink we are going to look at 365

I was wondering how other schools deal with this. We have no VLE here so a lot of staff email work to students who in turn email it back. SOme staff have asked for another way t do this and want a sort of hand in folder for work to be added to so they can the go in and access/mark it. I have seen on youtube that a sharepoint work space can be set up for each Homeric assignment but this would be a massive strain on us supporting this. ANy suggestions? Possibly using SkyDrive?

Can you set the comment bank to take less than the 1000 limit? If so how?

I am working with a new timetabler and she is preparing next years timetable in T6, she has sake me the correct order/procedure to adding the new starting staff to Sims now so she can carry on setting staff codes up etc for T6. What is the correct order/procedure to do this? Can the new teachers be added now to sims in Personnel (without start date?) then added to Manage classroom staff, assigned staff codes and then added to T6 for timetabling and printing of timetables? Do they have to be on Personnel now to do this. Can someone advise to the procedure they follow please?

I've been asked to look into options for creating Individual Student Reports. Currently we just pull the Effort and CAP grades out for each student building up over the year but to be honest its pretty poor as a lot of parents dont understand it even when thee is a KEY provided. Staff complain as they don't get the chance to add any personnel comments and in general we would liek to make it more parent friendly. Previously we have used Profiles (before my time) but staff were not happy with this so it was ditched.

I am wondering if anyone can help us. I have been asked to look into getting some sort of Office based module training that can be accessed on a users PC that will enable them to do training on Word, Excel, PowerPoint Outlook etc. I know Microsoft do a form of this on thei rown website but i was wondering if there are any other options or compnaies that provide similar

See screenshot below, but TBH i cant see how the permissions will stop someone adding a detention even if tweaked?

I never really had much success getting this to work before, problem is i want them to manually run the report as they need to choose an option for their own department.

Is it possible, if buying the correct package to use Office 365 with Sharepoint as a VLE? We use to have a Sharepoint Solution at my last school and we are looking at using something similar again at this school but the trouble is i know very little about Office 365 and what it can do.

IS it possible to put a SIms report onto everyones homepage? I want to be able to make a Sims report appear on everyones homepage, can this be done centrally or is this not possible?

HI, We want to use the Office 365 email service and switch over possibly at half term or if not then in the summer. The issue is we don't want to do the AD integration part yet. Can this be done months down the line or does it need to be done when you set things up?

Cant help with you exact question but we currently use OpenHive with Sims SLG and have been using this for over 3 year snow.. Feel free to ask any questions.

We use Parago. Would not use anything else but it is a bit pricey.

It's back on now. Not sure if they had Planned maintenance this weekend?

No one?

Has anyone else had any problems accessing their Openhive email account since Friday night?

We have been advised of a patch available from our LA Support team for this.

Ohwell, worth a try

Search the forums for Solus 3 and they should give you the information you need.

Has anyone got Sky Drive working with roaming profiles? It seems that when you log off it looses sky drive and you have to re-install it? Or is it just me?

What area you in Robo?

Thanks

And you are?

I am looking for some feedback from users of the OpenHive VLE solution. We currently use this but have been disappointed with it for some time now. We also use OpenHive as our email provider and have had quite a few problems with the emails over the last couple of months that is getting past a joke. We are looking into the possibility of using Office 365 as an alternative in the long term but i need to know more about the Pro's and Cons of moving. TBH I am only really interested with how Openhive pulls out the student and staff timetables from Sims into the users Outlook and wondering if this can be done in Office 365. I would appreciate as much feedback as possible about both but especially Office 365.
