I know others on here don't like it but we use Wasp Mobile Asset and its worked for us. They have just released an Edu version although I'm not sure what actually means in terms of features but you can download a free trial I believe. I'm not exactly sure of the cost but its a few hundred pounds and that's it - there are no ongoing costs after that except for major version upgrades. We did trial School Asset Manager and whilst good it lacked a couple of features that we use a lot. It was also expensive for us and the costs were ongoing.

I used add-remove programs which is the approved method. You just untick all the roles you want to remove (which will be all of them) and wait for the errors to appear! Exchange is linked into AD which is why its best to uninstall it using the official method

No - all the mailboxes that we wanted migrating had gone, so like you we turned it off for a week or so and waited for the phone calls :-) None came and we haven't had any other issues so I was happy to remove Exchange

Hi Tom I didn't get that exact error about the Public Folders but the one I did have was resolved with the following script - run from the Exchange Management Shell Get-PublicFolder -Server "\" -Recurse -ResultSize:Unlimited | Remove-PublicFolder -Server -Recurse -ErrorAction:SilentlyContinue Get-PublicFolder -Server "\Non_Ipm_Subtree" -Recurse -ResultSize:Unlimited | Remove-PublicFolder -Server -Recurse -ErrorAction:SilentlyContinue if you replace with the name of your server all works fine (need to replace it 4 times) Let me know how you get on Steve

2000 Pupil and 300 Staff (teaching and non-teaching) secondary school Desktop PC in 95% of classrooms plus staff have the option of a laptop or iPad. Currently we have around 60 or so staff with iPads. Access from home is via the VLE (Moodle) and also VPN if there is a particular need.

If you log in as systemadmin on that PC does the RMMC show up or is it for all accounts?

A few years back a parent phoned the Assistant Head who was (then) my boss and asked if we wanted a video wall which his company was dismantling. As I was out that morning, my very excited boss said yes please, and several hours later the video wall was duly delivered and unloaded by our reception just as I arrived back at work. To my consternation, the video wall consisted of around 30 15" bare CRT monitors - many of them without cases and some with broken screens, and all completely useless to us. By this time the parent had left and we had to lug them across site to be stored until I could persuade our local recycling company to take them away for us in exchange for a couple of old servers and other goodies. Needless to say my boss never lived that down

Did you get this sorted - I had many of the issues you had and have finally managed to get it uninstalled. I really have no idea why MS made it such a difficult task! Anyways, if you're still stuck then let me know

I bought a 6TB Netgear ReadNAS and with the exception of a dodgy firmware update that was released, it has been very reliable. It cost around £800 I think although it could be a little more than that

Yeah I suspected as such - its going to be hard to wean staff off Smart Notebook too. I think its going to be a case of seeing what version will work with this new board

We use SiteHelpDesk (sitehelpdesk.com) and have done for a number of years. Its pretty good to be fair and has been very reliable in terms of stability - we use it for IT and Property. It has SSO for staff as well as AD integration. There is also an email module which allows users to email the helpdesk with their problem -this automatically creates a call so staff can raise calls at home etc.

I think this has just become an issue for me too so I'm on the hunt for a replacement for Smart Notebook. Has anyone had any success finding a replacement or used a piece of software called Open Sankore which appears to be designed for IWB's?

We've been buying the Dells with 4GB RAM and 120GB SSD and they are fine - we aren't installing dozens of apps on them and students store everything in their home folders. Money is a bit tight so we went for the SSD over an i5 processor. Seems to be good so far

Don't have a solution but am interested in the thread as I'm going to decommission my Exchange Server 2007 on Monday as we have now moved to 365. I have a physical 2003 server but that shouldn't make any difference. Will let you know if I get the same issues as you!

Hassle in what way? I found it was quite easy to set up and the only requirement is to have a dedicated line between IP Office and the fax extension

Same here - our finance department still sends and receives faxes, although we ditched our analogue line and use a SIP trunk instead and it gets converted to analogue on our Avaya IP Office system. That costs around £4.00 a month so isn't too bad. Our HR department also get the occasional job application via fax - strange when you consider someone can't email it but has access to a fax!

Hi All I know Smartboard's (or rather IWB's) are a bit passe these days, but I need to replace a couple of SB680's and it seems Smart have a new 77" model, namely the SB480. Has anyone got any of these fitted and are they a simple replacement? I know there is an M680 but its a good £200 more. Thanks Steve

Will it build from a disk or USB stick? We upgraded in the summer and it has been fine although we don't have have any 210 notebook (but have built a much older RM laptop successfully)

Are these the new features in the latest updates for Smoothwall (haven't got round to doing mine yet - might be a job for today!)? I have got the same setup - albeit via VLANs and it all works fine so I'm a bit puzzled. I guess because you are getting entries in the Smoothwall logs, then the password between the Smoothwall and Ruckus is OK. Have you tried another user - a test account for example?

Same here, although it's not the Pronto - think it's the Tango/Rio but a good printer and can put a security watermark over the top of the print, although I think that's extra. The only negative point is that the ribbon can be fiddly to change

We've just migrated from Exchange 2007 to O365 using Dir Sync but I'm not sure if 2003 is quite as straightforward. I'm sure there is a compatibility list produced by Microsoft that shows what can and cannot be done. We used an external company to help us and they were very good. PM if you want their details - they may be able to offer some advice.
