I know that a few South America countries have purchased shedloads of the OLPC laptops, but has the project actually been a success?

Don't have kids so don't know the full ins and outs of Child Benefit, but surely you have to fill in a form to get it, and surely you have to put the incomes of both parents on it? There you go, both incomes immediately made available. It's not fair in the sense that a couple that both earn £40k, thus a combined income of £80k can still get it whereas a single income household of £45k would not be allowed it. (My understanding of it) Regardless of weather or not you think those on £45k+ should be entitled (I personally don't think they should), you cannot suggest that this is a fair way of doing it?

I agree totally, but I think the point Mattx is trying to make is that it's been done in such a stupid and unfair way.

I guess I shall have to try Carrot cake then. Another taste combination I'm reluctant to try is Marmite and Cheese. Again, I adore the 2 ingredients individually, but they just don't sound right together.

What a horrendous sounding concoction! It's like carrot cake. I like carrots and I like cake, but the thought of the 2 of them together makes me want to Vomit. To be fair, I haven't tried carrot cake, so may well be missing out on a tasty treat. Perhaps the ultimate taste sensation would be chocolate Marmite spread on carrot cake?

How can we tell you what your most FAQs are? You need to give a bit more info about your set-up. Is it XP, 7, MAC? Do you use SIMS or CMIS? You get the idea.

It's not Volume encrypted is it? I've come across USB drives with full volume encryption, that when inserted into a workstation, that doesn't have the encryption software, the USB drive shows up as needing formatting. (Which is rather stupid)

I'm afraid QA have bought out most other training companies such as Remarc and Interquad (or did Remarc buy Interquad first?) They are the big player now. I did 2 Server 2008 courses with them and was satisfied with both, but it does depend on how good and approachable the trainers are. Did mine in Stockport and Manchester.

Make sure you check event log regularly so if a major issue arises, you can cross reference it with her account usage. I hate situations like this. It shows how ruddy hard supporting schools really is.

I agree with Localzuk. There are so many manufacturers that are releasing tablets in the coming months (proper manufacturers too, not far east ripoffs), that to jump in now could be a costly mistake. I'm rather taken by the Archos 10". It's the size I want, but for some reason they didn't see fit to include a 3G port. It can be be tethered via your mobile, but that is an ugly and impractical solution in my opinion. I'm tempted to email their technical support to ask if a 3G dongle would be recognised, as I already have one of those. (Still hoping for Ubuntu NBR on a 10", with 3G port )
