[pics] Haven't seen him. He probably keeps himself to himself...

He lives next door to Mr Shy, neither of them get any Amazon parcels dropped off at the others. -
Nooo! I did my Computer Science O Level on one of those.

I think this is a great idea, not only were RM a very good hardware manufacturer, but we had found that their kit was very well thought out with education firmly in the forefront of their designs. I still remember quite clearly when (waaaaay back thataway <------) a member had reported that one of their RM One PC's had caught fire, and the reaction of members was 'But RM machines don't catch fire!', such was their reputation. And, if you are older, like me, you'll remember the very early RM computers in your schools. I'm all for preserving this kind of IT heritage, and if any of you do have any old RM kit laying around in store rooms pending disposal, then please think about donating them.

Eeep, I hadn't realised it was thread ressurection, but what a lovely follow-up and I'm glad he's doing ok despite the medical worry.

RM sells it's MIS business (RM Integris and RM Finance - along with RM Accounts and Access Education Budgeting) to The Key Group. You can read the official announcement here - https://www.rm.com/news/2022/rm-plc-announces-sale-of-school-management-information-system-business-to-the-key-group

Cyber Monday is here, and there are a few decent deals to be had. Grabbing a 1TB M.2 drive for my sons PC to put his Steam folder onto - https://www.amazon.co.uk/WD-Green-SN350-Internal-Solid/dp/B09DVQQL9G/ref=sr_1_16?crid=34UJOFGHRNCXF&keywords=1tb+nvme&qid=1669634061&sprefix=1tb+%2Caps%2C246&sr=8-16

I adopt the Terry Pratchett method of naming pets (from The Unadultarated Cat), in that you should never call them anything that you won't be embarressed at shouting outside your front door at midnight!

I do see that there are some very good monitor deals around this BF.

Winner! I remember playing Star Raiders on this around a (rich-well, his parents were!) friends house when I was 10. Blew my mind at the time.

Just got an email from Bulb saying my payments have been reduced from £110 to £103. That's Christmas sorted then!

An often much overlooked machine and one of my faves from the era.

Nope, but the right era.

Can I ask if you also have any network management software such as NetSupport, LanSchool or Impero in use, as they can provide that kind of functionality. I can guess not by the fact you have to ask for a dedicated app, but had to ask.

Will do, and @simonw I couldn't quite stretch that far, but it's a vast improvement on my old one, so I'll count that as a win

Not sure, bit I'm always surprised at how you can date soemthign by it's design, and that does look like an early 2000's button!

Anyone here track flights? Built an ADSB Receiver?
Dos_Box replied to Sonic007's topic in General Chat
It's something I've always been meaning to do as I live under not only the flightpath into Warton but also a trans-Atlantic air corridor, and am facinated by it all. Just a case of my getting the rest of my house sorted out in the meantime! -
