Does anybody have issues with these sound cards? They are giving us problems on our newest computers. They have too many options! We have front audio ports (as well as the rear). All we want is for the kids to plug mic in the front and then record in audacity. Simple? Yes on the older computers with the realtek ac 97 cards. We have to click so many options just to get it to work on the Realtek HD ones! Such as unticking enable front audio detection, having to change the input in audacity as it defaults to the digital not analogue inputs to name but a few annoyances.

I know pars are working on a web based version of pars, which might be of interest to you, called pars connect.

only disabled it on the actual right click of the word 'Start' on the taskbar , because it allows them to explore the hard disks which we do not want (even with the 2 group poilcys 1, hide drives and 2, prohibit exploring of local disks turned on), they cannot do anything to the hard disks but still do not like them exploring round folders... they can right click on folders, right click in windows explorer, and right click in Internet Explorer, with the exception of the start menu, i fail to see what disabling right click achieves. Could somebody enlighten me?

I had to downgrade 32 of these to XP when we bought them for use with a Laptop trolly. The drivers are there for XP, but you need to go to the USA Acer site.

Are there any free decent Content Managment systems that run on IIS? We already have a Joomla box but for another site, i'd like somthing the same, but for IIS.

Anybody else here from staffordshire schools and if so what do you think of SLT's VLE offerings? I think its a bit . First of all its NOT hosted on site, so it does not link in with the kids Active Directory accounts, so its not single sign on, so yet another login for them to remember. Its £1000 sign on fee, then £3 per student/teacher in year 1, £5 in year 2, £7 in year 3. Thats around £4000 a year for us after 3 years, not cheap! Once again Staffordshire County Council have jumped in bed with RM again for the solution (no suprise there ) Think i might take a close look at the SIMS Learning gateway, or wait to see what becomes of PARS Connect and use that with a seperate onsite VLE like moodle.

We've got 490 students and 290 computers /laptops for pupil use.

Microsoft played around a lot with WebDav in Windows XP, and you'll find that XP SP2 is the worst for using WebDav. Its slow, hangs and crashs explorer lots.

The drivers for the text mode part do not go in the i386. I've pasted my path below, just change the WINDOWSXPSP2 folder to your XP folder on your RIS server. \\SERVERNAME\REMINST\Setup\English\Images\WINDOWSXP\$oem$\Textmode You also need to add that path into your ristndrd.sif under the [unattended] section OemPnPDriversPath= "Drivers\Textmode" That should do it.

I tried to, but it errors, and when i phoned support he told me to do it manually 1 by 1, and when we did our second set again it errored, and i ended up doing it 1 by 1. I'm not the only one, somebody else on here had this issue too

Most i have done is just over a 100 tests at the same time. It worked, main annoyance was having to click verify and unlock test 100 times, GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

I have, this is what Support told me to do when i said i want Exambase back. We just need enough people to tell them were not happy with Promissor! Just send them a brief e-mail saying why you want Exambase back and why Promissor is so poo.
