  1. No, it should still work with or without folder redirect, should still be a drive G: in My Computer.
  2. Just out or curiosity, what percentage are the OS's that people viewing edugeek are running? Is the loverly, brilliant, "just works" XP still king?
  3. Yep, well this one did. It reset the date back to 2007, but not the password.
  4. You can do it that with Windows with a simple boot CD.
  5. Anybody know any little tricks to reset the BIOS password on the dell D420 laptop? tried the take battery out , no luck.
  6. School same size as yours, just under 500 students, since september we have done (according to pcounter) Colour 65,751 sheets Mono 204,462 sheets So 270, 213 sheets in total...
  7. We run Joomla on IIS6 fine. Just need to install PHP on IIS, this step by step video will get it working Installing PHP5 on Windows 2003 and IIS6 | PHP | Web Technologies- VideoTutorialZone.com Install MySQL, and your all ready to run Joomla. You could put Joomla in subfolder, say /home then when its all working, just put an auto forwarder in your wwwroot to send them to the Joomla site in /home. Thats what i did
  8. Both IIS and Apache can run Joomla. Would it not be easier to just use what you have on there already as the web server? But yes, you could run both, as long as they are running on different ports.
  9. We run lots of clubs at lunch and after school, we would like a block on our frontpage that depending on what day of the week it is, lists the corrosponding clubs that are running. Is there any block out there at the moment that will do this? If not how do i remotely go about creating one my self, never done any block making for Moodle.
  10. As a very easy way to replicate this, you could create an auto it script that does nothing but pause, and give it an icon you want. Save it, and tell that user type to run it at logon, then that icon will just sit there in the systray doing nothing. As auto it scripts sit there until finished.
  11. Apparently every change is done a points system with RM, and DNS change is so many points, and = £££
  12. We do, but we have no access to change the DNS A records our self, and get charge £60 a time NOT HAPPY
  13. 5400 printed in black and white with us until we used K550 drivers.
  14. I am on 60.52.623.0
  15. Try using the K550 drivers for the 8000, thats what we do on our Office Jet Pro 8000's, and they work fine. The 5400 and 8000 drivers are just not as good as the K550 drivers. We have over 20 of a mixture of K550, 5400 and 8000 Inkjets and they are great little printers, run trouble free, and cost a lot less than Colour Lasers to run, had the K550 for a few years now. So i give them a big thumbs up
  16. Only thing i can think of is using Group Policy set "Show Startup Scripts Visable" then manually time it. You should see the command window pop up then. (If they are .bad based)
  17. I just followed this video tutorial on how to install PHP on IIS 6 Installing PHP5 on Windows 2003 and IIS6 | PHP | Web Technologies- VideoTutorialZone.com I have Exchange 2003, Joomla, PHP, IIS6 all running on the same box all happy from day 1, so follow that video step by step, and all should be ok.
  18. I do not recommend using Z: as i'm sure its used by the system at netlogon for scripts, and so could cause an issue. Edit, found this from MS "By default, Windows XP assigns mapped network drives to the highest available drive letter, starting with drive Z, to avoid drive letter collisions."
  19. If you can live without MMS, the N900 is my best phone (well PC) yet. Just goto youtube and search for N900 for loads of interface videos. I've had a game of Quake III multiplayer with somebody on a PC and me on my N900 that was fun.
  20. Yes at long last get rid of these written papers. We do the ALAN, and although its not the best software in the world, its a better system than the pen and paper. As long as they get the software right, maybe bring exambase back, as that just worked, i'm all for it.
  21. You might want to have this thread moved to "behind the red door", or it will appear in google searchs and other departments at your school might get answers from it.
  22. How about using Robocopy with the /MIR switch to Mirror every so often.
  23. I have, they said no, its to old, come and renew your support contract
  24. Does anybody have an old version of pcounter i could download from them like 2.11f ? I want to re-install , and the Maintenance Date is invalid for the newer versions on there website.
  25. I've got a Nokia N900 which is a Linux Internet Tablet with a phoned strapped on. Very geeky, had it running Quake 3 Arena multiplayer against somebody on a PC.
