Hi, I attended a presentation of the Bromcom MIS system yesterday and came away feeling impressed with it, like all presentations it's easy to feel this way, but before I can properly advise SMT I need more views:) For a balanced opinion is there anyone who currently runs the Bromcom MIS system prepared to give me the low down on it from an active school use perspective. Even better if you were a SIMS.net school and moved to Bromcom, how do they compare in your view? Pro's Con's etc. Thanks in Advance

Well I have just looked at this here SEGfL and Google is unfiltered if you sign in, reported it to the LEA, see what they do.

Exams are trying to create a new reason for room closure in cover so they can mark revision classes. We have created the new reason for cover called revision but when we add a new closure in cover, it only gives us the option to add an exam invigilator and not a teacher who is on the free list. If we select add exam invigilator it chaces te closure reason to exam. All we want to do is have a closure called revision and be able to add a teacher from the free list to cover it. Any idea what we are doing wrong?

I was looking at the HPC LS 6090 Pro Laser as my laser cutter option and adding on the extractor The problem I have is I have been given no hint by the DT department only that they need a laser cutter, isit just me or should they not really research a bit into the expensive equipment they want. The head has asked me to look into a laser cutter for graphics and DT, I think we would be better off getting a 3d printer rather than old tech laser cutters, what would you do and what does your DT and graphics departments use. £6k+ on a laser cutter setup or £4k on MakerBot 2x setup, choices.

We have bought 9 Fusion Pads, they seem to be working well.

Yes, our print script puts the printers back in, I have some legacy printers stuck in the registry which show up as ghost printers.

As per the title, trying to delete a reg key even though I am using /f it is still asking for confirmation. Script reg delete "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Print\" /va /f Can anyone shed any light as to why it is asking for confirmation?

Solved, turns out it was an Edimax print server causing it, it was called adminoff, renamed it and the problem was fixed.

We name all our admin machines ADMINOFF_xx, recently they have been experiencing weird problems such as, not showing anything in my network places, popping up with duplicate name on the network etc. Now, if I rename a machine to ADMINOFF_125665458 or ADMINOFF_23564 or any other random number it says duplicate name on the network, if I rename a machine to ADMIN_xx it renames fine and the machine works perfect. If you carry out a netview for the domain no machines named ADMINOFF_xx show up even though they exist, these machines can still use SIMS.net and other mapped drives. I am stumped I have cleared DNS Cache, scavenged for stale records etc but it makes no difference. Any ideas?
