And when i migrate versions, i install a new exchange server, migrate mailbox, outlook detects change, close and re-open and boom all my emails are still there..

well no we actually use some other software for intruder alerts, but I actually think along the lines of how everyone can communicate. a teacher in a classroom has an issue, no phone, no radio, least they can email someone . lets change our mobile phone policy so that in the event of no internet, we can all use our mobiles..yay Having used exchange for 16 years and 100% uptime, i see no benefit to office 365

3. you don't? that's not a response put governors want to hear. they want contingency . what would you do for safeguarding, notifying users of potential intruders on site? also our exchange server has never been hacked or mailboxes compromised because it's impossible due to strict firewall rules but I've had other tenencies on 365 who have been hacked with the emails showing in their outbox, blue button virus etc.

O365 may well be free however please answer the following to convince me.. 1. what does it cost to backup 2. requires backup internet connection by separate provider different cable in the event of internet connection loss 3. if internet goes down how do you email internally 4. have 1 global address list containing the users from 2 organisations in 1 global address list/,email system 5. office 365 is slow to navigate 6. can third party spam filters run on o365 7. o365 mailboxes easily hacked cannot lock down smtp authorisation? and i can think of a few more

Before i start creating VMs and going ahead with this project i currently have a single domain forest running exchange server. I want to move exchange to a resource forest, however i'm not sure how this affects Outlook 2016 and autodiscover. Currently it points to the exchange server in the single domain forest, however once mailboxes are moved to the resource forest, how will outlook 2016 find the mailbox in the resource forest , as mailboxes will have to be migrated gradually.

I'm having an issue with hybrid mailboxes with Exchange 2016 and office 365. I've got the situation whereby mailboxes are created on office 365 before Ad/local exchange knows of the user and GUID. I successfully managed to copy the 365 mailbox to the local user account and this created a mailbox type of 'office 365' in exchange control panel. Mail was successfully being delivered as 2 copies both to local exchange mailbox and Office 365. I then did a mailbox migration from 365 to local. Once this had finished, 365 became inaccessible- no local mailbox, local outlook prompted changed were made requiring a restart of outlook, it wouldnt open. tried to create a new account, added succesfully but on opening, wouldnt open the folders. there is a mailbox as i can see the usage from admin centre. However, the only difference is that the user in in a different forest to the exchange forest. How does hybrid work in this scenario if the exchange organisation is in a different AD forest to the user domain forest..

So MS Teams went down today.... Microsoft has determined that an authentication certificate has expired, causing users to have issues using Teams. They are developing a fix to apply a new certificate to the service to resolve the issue. oh dear oh dear!!

I've always found Casio lampless projectors to not last very long before quality goes poor and we had issues with dead pixels - all had done less than 6000 hours.

Can i have a configuration where on each site, there is automatic failover to the second server, but in even of SITE link failure, i can do manual activation and activate the databases at the second site so users can still access externally?

If i put all 4 servers into a SINGLE DAG so that all 4 hold copies i presume i then set one of the servers in SITE A for site's A mailboxes as active and one of the servers in SITE B for site B's local mailboxes as ACTIVE and the other 2 remain passive? Where would witness be located for the single DAG?

Yes correct what I have setup is a server failure per site,(2 servers per site each hosting a duplicate of the other server databases) however i'm looking to add Site failure, so cant work out what i need in terms of DAGs and witness locations, which is the bit i'm looking for a bit of assistance with. here's current setup

- Exchange 2016 2 AD Sites, DC's at both sites for the domain Exchange server on each site are all part of the same domain. Single FSW on each site for the 2 servers hosting that sites exchange DB.

I've currently got 2 sites running exchange server both interlinked IP-IP and accessible from the internet. at both sites i've got 1 DAG which includes both exchange servers for each separate site with a File share witness on that site so if one server goes now it will failover to the other. I now want to add to the mix so that a copy of site's 1 databases are mirrored to site 2 so in event of internet failure to the main site, users can get to the mailboxes from site 2. Could someone do a quick diagram of what i need in the way of DAG and placement of the witness. thanks in advance.

I've got a strange issue with windows 10 and WSUS. Clients were on 10.0.17134.471. I approved the 2019-12 cumulative update which should take the build to 10.0.17134.1038 Some clients have downloaded installed the update and showing correctly in WSUS and now shows 7 updates required. However, there's areclients checked in today showing still as version 10.0.1734.471 with 11 updates, however when i check the updates required, all the updates show as 'not approved' and doesnt list the 2019-12 cumulative update, but does list all the other months 2019-05, 06, 10, 11 for version 1803. All machines were initially on same windows 10 1803 build, so why do some machines need 2019-12 update and others not?

I'm getting a number of machines that are losing group policy settings and on the login screen shows the username of the last logged in user. By deleting the registry.pol file in the \grouppolicy\machine folder of the local client, running a gpupdate /force and rebooting the machine, this restores everything back to normal. How do i diagnose what is causing the issue?
