WebWhiteboard - test subjects wanted!

Are there any plans to integrate this with Google Apps for Education? -
Same here. Really annoying as it has undone a load of work we did last year in enabling/forcing You Tube EDU for students. We can add exceptions to the YouTube EDU http re-write in Smoothwall for videos we want students to be able to view but aren't classed by YouTube as Educational (film trailers for media studies, for example). We also block access to https YouTube to prevent students logging in to YouTube to bypass the EDU filter. However, now students can't disable Safety Mode without being signed in, which they can't do. So now all of the videos on our Smoothwall "Allow List" are blocked via Safety Mode. Completely stuck now as we don't want to enable https, and in turn full, access to YouTube (goodbye bandwidth!!)- any ideas???

We have a Google Apps domain here and the Admin app for that can be useful, as are the Docs, Sheets, Drive apps.

We just started having a look at this. For sharing google docs with your classes, it looks great. Just takes all of the manual process out of the teachers' hands. The Assignment "Turn In" is a nice feature too. Not sure if it will replace our Moodle, but it's definitely something we're going to trial with a few groups. One thing that is lacking is being able to share classes/courses between teachers in a department. If you could have more than one teacher assigned to a course, that would be very beneficial to us. We tried to hack around at it by copying the class folder into the second teacher's Google Drive "Classroom" folder, but no joy.

First step would be to run RSOP.msc and look for any yellow exlamation marks indicating an error applying any of the policies. - - - Updated - - - Oh and gpupdate /force is what you need to run to make a PC gets all its GPOs applied.

Birmingham schools. - is your internet really slow / non existent today?

I'm no longer with Link2ICT, but I still get their text alerts. I had one yesterday there had been a major incident and that customers were reporting slow connectivity. There's a ServiceNow reference of 102025 relating to this problem. I guess it's still an issue! There's a subforum for all things BGFL/Link2ICT - Birmingham Grid for Learning (BGfL) - It's mostly just complaining about the terrible connectivity. So glad we're broke away from them! -
Perfect, cheers matey. The originals came with figure of 8 power leads, so that's not a problem.

Had a quick look. For a 24v adapter there are 1.25a or a 4a current output available. Am I right in thinking a 4a adapter would be ok as the Nuvo would only draw what it needs up to the stated maximum of 1.5a? Or would a 4a adapter kick out too much current and end up blowing the amp?
-
RM supplied them before but they no longer sell hardware. No idea why they have blown tbh. A couple were plugged in to cheap and nasty 4 gang extensions, but then again others were directly fused into a spur.

Hi folks, Wasn't sure where to post this, feel free to move it if needed mods. We've had a spate of power adapters blow over the past few months - about 6 in total. They are for our Nuvo in-wall amplifiers but they seem to have fairly uncommon power requirements. We're looking for AC/DC adapter that outputs 24v at 1.5a and we're really struggling to locate any. The type of connector doesn't matter as we'll be stripping that off to wire it into the amp. I have attached a couple of images to show you the requirements we need - we'd like to avoid the multi-voltage selector switch style adapters as we want to minimise the risk of students breaking it! Thanks in advance for any suggestions. School-friendly suppliers preferred

Just been reading this thread after zag had suggested TASC on another thread I had started. One quick question for anyone who uses TASC Insight - Is it possible to set up teachers and have them submit attendance registers via Insight? I'm thinking for off-site registration at our partner school.

Cheers buddy, didn't realise it linked to the SIMS user account - I just thought it was associated with the personnel file as per the parent accounts. -

Cool. Do you need any additional licenses from Capita? -

Cheers buddy. I'll have a look into it. Quick question - how does it compare price-wise? Yeah, we've come across that problem when a Domain Admin tries to consolidate their account. The problem I'm having is happening with the users initial account that is being set up by AD Provisioning. I will double check their settings in AD though, cheers. -

What do you use instead, out of interest? Checked AD permissions and that's all ok as the Active Directory Provisioning tool takes care of that. Not sure what to check in SIMS. As I said in this particular user is set up with the most basic of information in their record. Just a name, DOB and Staff code. -
