    No, but you can reset it with a little linux utility - chntpw. It's included in quite a few distro's by default, can't remember offhand but google will tell you. Find one, get unetbootin to create a bootable flashdrive, away you go ...

    If you've got a PXE option in the BIOS, it will usually display the client address when attempting to boot, so long as a cable is plugged in.

    I'd be tempted to cable servers direct into the core, then they get a gig each, rather than a share of a gig through a switch.

    look at Group Policy Preferences - you can add local, IP-based, or server-based printers - works for XP clients so long as they have the GPP extension installed. It can also do Drive Mapping, etc...

    They're not really called 'my documents', but seem to show as that due to having a desktop.ini file in them. If you fire up a CMD window and do a DIR, ou'll see they're correctly named. It's an annoyance, I've not looked too much further at the mo'.

    Here's a line from one of my scripts, that's working fine :- forfiles /P Z: /M "*.BKF" /D -21 /C "CMD /C DEL @FILE" Z: is the path *.BKF is the 'mask' - -21 - 3 weeks is what we're keeping in this case. Hope this is of some use.

    look at 'point & print' group policy settings - can't remember exactly, but you can lift the restrictions that are stopping standard users getting it mapped. you might need the latest adm files and/or RSAT installing before you can see this option - my servers were 2008 when I had this.

    I deployed the software via group policy, and included what was required in preferences / windows settings / ini files , so the settings get deployed alongside the software - seems to work a treat.

    Group Policy Preferences - users settings, but linked to a computer OU - works fine, with loopback processing enabled in merge mode. also look at 'point & print' settings to allow silent driver installation. This way there's no scripts, no batch files, etc.

    How about using EventCreate in a logon script - you can get all clients to log to one central machine .
