Hi Everyone. Has anyone in education had any issues with Excel crashing on teacher computers that also run Smart Software? If so what were they and how did you fix them? We courrently have a strange one where Smart Board Tools are affecting the way Excel runs when you try to do formula work. It just seems to hang Excel until you shut down the tools bringing it back to life. This happens on all PCs that have both the mentioned software installed. Any ideas on a fix so they work in harmony? Many Thanks!

Hi Everyone. Can anyone help please????? I'm curently working on a project that requires me to provide our ldap details to sync with a booking system held externally to get all our users to be able to login. All our current ldap enabled tasks are held within our private network and the settings i can see all point to an internal IP which is our DC. The software wants a different address containing a public IP as it comes in via the web and i'm unsure what it is. I've tried all sorts of combinations from ldap://dc.domain.local:389 to ldaps://dc.domain.local:636. I've even tried our proxy server A record DNS but still top no avail. Any ideas where i might be going wrong? The software comapny says we should heve an external ldap address, but as a techie that didn't originally set it up, I can't find it! Many thanks!!!

Hello Everyone. A little cheeky, but by any chance does anyone have any info or advice on creating profiles for Windows 7? We currently have mandatory profiles (Admin Staff, Teaching Staff & Students), but of course we can’t use them with Windows 7. Is there anyway of converting them to V2 profiles so we can use them? I’m asking you as I’m sure that some of you will have already taken the leap to 7 from XP. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

Home Folder NTFS Permissions When Folders Already Exist! Hi Everyone! Does anyone know of a quick way to populate "home folders" with the users correct NTFS permissions when they already exist? For instance: user1 home folder does not currently have his ntfs permission set to user1-Full Control. He needs this and when trying the %username% command in AD, It errors saying the folder already exists and doesn't implement the user1 NTFS change. I could do it manually, but for over 1000 users it'll take time. The current folders already include over a TB of data, so to recreate them and migrate will take time too! Any help would be GREATLY received...... HELP!

Hi Everyone! I'm a newbie on here but would like to pick your brains regarding the above printers. In a short space of time we have had 6+ printers go down with all similar errors. They keep jamming or complaining of a jam when there doesn't seen to be any blockages at ALL! Errors like jam in duplex unit and casette 1 are common and even after a thorough inspection and air dusting, they still won't work. Kyocera support doesn't want to know as they're out of warranty unless we foot a large call out bill totalling over £250 (Without parts ot labour). A little digging indicates a firmware error and a flashing of the EPROM, but to be honest I can't find more than that. Any help would be FANTASTIC! Thank You in advance, James.
