Thank you - I've made those changes.

it's Outlook, and that does work for an individual user, but I'd like to deploy it by GPO if possible - how do you do that?

When anyone on Windows 10 attempts to open an e-mail attachment or a downloaded file, particularly Office documents they are unable to do so. They need to save the document, go to properties and unblock it. Is there a way of forcing this by GPO?

I'm having the exact same issue - I've found the Microsoft drivers work where the Intel ones don't. My thread on the same issue: http://www.edugeek.net/forums/windows-10/173090-usb-drivers.html I am resigned to updating the drivers on all machines we've already imaged manually, and trying to identify the rogue driver within SCCM, so future builds work

@Norphy - Windows 10 - so how do I do this with the cmdlets? Powershell is on my list of things to learn! @googlemad - USB2

Why do problems only occur after you've done all your testing and you've rolled out to 100s of machines? We have a large number of our machines which appear to have picked up the wrong USB drivers, rendering the keyboard and mouse inoperable. If we remote into the machine, go to Device manager, right click to update driver, browse my computer, let me pick from a list of device drivers, and select "Standard Enhanced PCI to USB Host Controller" instead of "Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller" Is there a way I can make this change by GPO or script?

Then you definitely need to be running SIMSInst -

if you are trying to install the SIMS client you should be running SIMSInst.exe. -

When I had it before I'd be locked out of the machine once it rebooted after installing Windows. Took me a while moving around tasks until I got it to work.
-
I found it easier in Win 10 - the only fiddly bit was were to put the tasks so it doesn't reboot before it writes back to AD:

Exactly that. If I right click, go to Properties and copy the URL I can paste it into IE and go to the site.
-
In IE11. I haven't tried from explorer yet

We redirect favorites to \\server\users$\\favorites and on Windows 7 it works well. However, for one user, in Windows 10 LTSB, using IE11 clicking on a favorite does nothing. Going to properties of the shortcut and copying and pasting the URL works. The user has full control of the redirected folder, and can add shortcuts. Other Windows 10 users are fine. What am I missing?

You will need to use mailmerge filtering - assuming Office 2013, go to edit recipient list and select filter. Choose the bronze field, is not blank and merge to Bronze template. Repeat for Silver and Gold.

Cunninghams Cashless System, SIMS & New Y7 Intake
clareq replied to mark80's topic in How do you do....it?
You need to import them manually - I assume you run MISSync? Open that, there is an option for pre-admissions. -
Nothing useful in the Event log. I'll look at uploading and downloading a file.

Right, next problem. I can now log onto microsoftonline.com, and can access the Excel spreadsheet the staff member needs to access. It is a complex spreadsheet, with workbook protection, so can't be opened with Excel on-line. However, when I try and open it with Excel locally, the program opens, but the file doesn't. A local user on a domain machine has the same problem, but on a machine off the domain, it works, even through our web filter. Back to testing...

It's the redirected profile - remove profile path from the user account in AD and I can log on.

They are in my testing OU, which has blocked inheritance. There is HTTPS interception, but that applies to those users for whom it is working as well. I've tried other browsers (Chrome) and get the same. There is a redirect on the profile - I'll look at that now. portal.office.com also doesn't work

No joy I'm afraid. Even tried putting the site into Trusted sites, still didn't work.

A member of staff has been given access to our academy chain lead school Sharepoint. When he tries to log on he gets a blank page when accessing online.microsoft.com. I don't when I use a local administrator account. I've built a clean machine, and put it in an OU with no GPOs attached, and I'm using a test user with no GPOs attached. The blank page still appears. I then tried a local user on the same machine - it worked. It can't therefore be a filtering issue, as unauthenticated users, such as the local user, go through our tightest filtering. It must be linked to a domain user, but no GPOs are attached, so what's different between a local restricted user and a domain user with no GPOs? Help!

We've had some laptops from them - not bad build quality, and not needed to use the warranty so far - which is a good thing
