I've checked the time, and it is fine. The problem appears to follow the user around, but, confusingly, a new account for the same user had the same issue.

One user at a primary I support is having filtering issues, particularly with YouTube access. She can get on the site, then, halfway through using it, the filter block page pops up. I've been in touch with the supplier, and they tell me it's an internal issue as the computer isn't sending a Kerberos token to them. Where do I start troubleshooting this one?

We are seeing the printing registers error, but don't use SOLUS, prefering to deploy SIMS updates via SCCM. I am told that the fix for the registers error is a three part process - patch the database with dbupgrade, run SIMSSQLApplicationSetup on the SQL server, then run SIMSApplicationSetup on the workstations. Does anyone know whether users will get the "Incompatible database" error if I patch the server and they attempt to run SIMS before the ApplicationSetup is run? I have a horrible feeling the answer will be yes.

Watchguard. With Fortigate if I turn on Safesearch it turns it on for everything, I can't set it granularly. I'll have to ask about setting up GSuite - that's not my call I'm afraid.

That would be great, if we weren't a 365 school. No GSuite.

We have just been switched across to Fortigate for our web filtering, but, as usual, the training hasn't yet happened. Staff are complaining that they cannot access youtube videos they could access before. From what I can see, Safe Search has been enabled, and YouTube access set to moderate. How do I allow youtube videos that aren't in the allowed list?

Not my call, unfortunately. I've found the issue anyway - Google Chrome GPO needs Allow invocation of file selection dialogues enabled.

We block students being able to browse the C drive via Chrome, but are hitting a problem with Scratch Online. If a student clicks on "open from My computer" they get an error telling them the can't browse local files. Clicking on the same thing as an administrator opens the desktop. We redirect the desktop for students, so I envisage problems there too. Any ideas?

The ADFS was set up before my time here - where can I see what claims have been set? I can't see any difference between clients going to that web site.

All uses with the domainB address have a domainB UPN. They will have never had a domainA UPN, so their profile won't be affected.

I think I have things a bit clearer now - we have an internal and public domain, called, for example domainA. A few years ago the powers to be decided that @DomAinA wasn't a nice e-mail address, and told us to change it to @DomAinB. We created the new domain, registered it with 365, and all new users since then have been given the e-mail address @DomAinB. At the same time, all new accounts have the username @DomAinB. We have ADFS, and they are seamlessly logged onto 365. However, it appears that all users without a @DomAinA address aren't seamlessly connecting to OneDrive from Office. I'm sure it's something simple, and it's strange it's taken 2 years for anyone to notice, but has anyone got any ideas what I've missed?

Anyone else having problems with users accessing OneDrive from Office? OneDrive seamlessly logs them on at log on, it shows up in File Explorer, can be navigated to online, but when trying to save a Word document to One Drive they get prompted to log on, and then get told their school address isn't recognised as a Microsoft account. Strangely, it's not affecting everyone.

Boot to a cmd window (usually F8), then make the ease of access center launch an administrative command prompt. The ease of access button launches the Utilman.exe executable. Both the cmd.exe and Utilman.exe are located in the same directory. Navigate to C:/Windows/System32. Rename Utilman.exe to something like Utilman_old.exe Right click and copy cmd.exe Paste the copy into the System32 folder (same folder you'll be in) Rename the copy of the cmd.exe to Utilman.exe Reboot into windows. Once you get to the login screen, click the ease of access button in the lower left corner. An administrative command prompt will launch. The next step is up to you. You can create a new password for the user, create a new user or activate the default administrative account. use the net user command. ($ is the prompt don't type the $ sign). change password for the current account: $ net user username password add a new user: $ net user username password /add activate the default administrator (I use two commands but you can do it with one): $ net user administrator password $ net user administrator /active:yes

You certainly need Application and Infrastructure. I believe AMPark is assessment manager, so if you use that, install it. If you look at the C drive of a machine after you've installed SIMS there are setup logs in the root of C for Application and Manual. The ampark log is in Program files\sims\sims .net. The infrastructure log is in the root of Program Files (x86).

I know it's naughty, but we deploy SIMS via SCCM. I have four applications - SIMS AmPark, SIMS Application, SIMS Infrastructure and SIMS manuals. In each case the detection method is the Date modified on the Setup.log of each application. Every time SIMS is updated I update the files in the folders, alter the date modified and redistribute the files. When a machine is reimaged SIMS is added as part of the TS, if needed. It was done this way when I started here, and it's outside my payscale to change it, but I don't think I would - it just works. We don't need to remember to install the agent after a rebuild, and as soon as the build is complete the machine is ready for the end user.

I've seen that before. I got round it by running each of the exe in turn, rather than SIMSinst - so SIMSInfrastructureSetup.exe, SIMSApplicationSetup.exe, SIMSAMParksetup.exe and lastly SIMSManualSetup.exe

Yes it is - back it up at the first school and restore from back up in the second. Make the edits required and then link it as required.

I found this - it might help: Go to Rules – Then select Manage Rules and Alerts Select “New Rule” Select the Option “Apply rule on messages I receive” Under the category “Start from a blank rule” click next. Put a check in the box – with specific words in the message header. Click on the blue underlined words “specific words” a new box will pop up. In this box, type the abbreviation for the day of the week you want this to apply to. I have it set for an out of office reply on Tuesdays, the abbreviation for the days of the week are the first 3 letters, Tuesday = Tue click add, then click ok. It will take you back to the previous screen, just click next. Now select “have server reply using a specific message” Click on the words “a specific message” in the step 2 box. This will open an untitled message. Leave the to, cc, and bcc blank. Fill in the subject line and the body of the email. This will be your Out of Office message. Then click save and close.

No, not for tablets - desktops. I mentioned it as the OP said they would have to purchase tablets for use with CPOMS.
