We had a teacher that wanted to buy a second hand video camera, because she like exact model - but quality sold on ebay was very bad and these were very expensive as well. They were not available in retail. They decline to bay it. I usually buy laptops keyboards, LCD screens for laptops and sometimes chargers.

We just have this problem. Using Lexmark printer, students use old printing dialog to print multiple pictures like a grid. It is very useful like that. Please let us know if you find a solution how fix it.

I think it does affect PCs if you use server shared printers, as the classroom computers didn't have that KB installed but still crashing, but it was installed on the server. For time being we changed printers to direct printing and approved for removal - it takes some time to take an effect. Bit annoying situation, we have a lot of Kyocera printers.

We use pre-printed labels. As I don't pay for it from my own budget, don't really care and don't have to worry about it.

I still believe these test are mostly waste on money and time. I will do it, as probably it is bit better than doing nothing, but: - these are unreliable in hands of not medically trained people - some will see a negative test as a way to relax more I still think schools should have more staggered start.

That would be a great moment for our school to open in summer hols for student. Especially our school building going to be demolished and over the summer we will be moving everything to a tempt accommodation. Maybe we can have summer school on a football pitch? Apart from that, don't think many teachers will just agree to work more hours/days and £20k will not stretch far

The only way we could test all 1200 students, it would be to stop the lessons for whole day and just do testing, involving lots of staff in this - I think even with that it would be near impossible

We had this problem years ago and had to buy loads of Wifi cards and swap them, cant remember what was the exact card. But the problem was that chip on the card was causing a connection problem. Cost us £20 extra per laptop. Surprise this is still happening

Another good company is wizkids and they offer additional service with their licences - their fleet manager software.

It is worth as much as someone is willing to pay for it, domain world is full of things like that. We bough a few years ago schoolname.org and use it now for our email, as schoolname.countyname.sch.uk was bit long. I think this is the right way to go, you will still have access to old, long domain.

It was just reckless, especially at his age. Yesterday took my car for the service, family of four in the waiting room, non of the staff wear face mask, just face shields. I will throw a curve ball. Disclaimer - I'm not an Apple fan, really don't like the brand. Oldish apple wired headphones with jack. No noise cancelation, no wireless but they are cheap and produce good sound for the price. Bough pair for the wife and she ditched her more expensive bluetooth headphone for these. You can find on ebay plenty of them , just don't buy the cheapest ones, as they are fake. £10 and slightly above are good ones.

I just bought Wizkids their classroom management software. Works really well, easy to use. Does most what I need, like adding and removing people from classrooms and just check who is assigned. Nothing in it for parents, but it is still being developed, so maybe they will add this soon

Went to Lidl last Saturday. No one at the entrance, I haven't seen anyone without mask. But, lots of families doing shopping together, extreme was a Mom, Dad and 2 kids together. Lot of couples. I live near Eastbourne, highest amount of cases in the whole east Sussex. Common sense doesn't exists !

Management only ask volunteers if they want to be tested. Don't know about why they didn't start with students, maybe something together that we have max 60 students in school during this lock down

The school testing can potentially be harmful to controlling the virus. Lateral flow test is only accurate if person has high amount of virus , much less accurate in other scenario. With the new strain being more infectious, I wonder if person would still infect others when they have a small amount of virus cells in his/her body. Harm can come from people behaviour, some would be more relaxed after testing negative, but they could have virus in their bodies and be infectious. It will help with early detection, but it is still early days. I think the data on mass testing from Liverpool was still not released, so scientist cannot assess it. I just hope that vaccination program will be as scheduled, but with so many cocks up I don't have much faith

My problem with that delay of second dose is, there are no studies to confirm what impact delay will have. Yes it might work well enough, but what is after 4-5 weeks effectiveness drops massively? Eve Pfizer said they do not have any research done on that. It' looks like it is a coin toss, with fingers crossed. Last week we had in lots of teachers and staff for first few days. Now a proper rota was set, teachers only come in to "baby sit" those pupils in school. Pupils juts follow normal timetable with most classes done over Google Meet. They all stay in same computer room whole day, teacher changes every 2 periods I think. Some teacher decided to work from school, as they find it easier, but 99% of the time they stay in their own classrooms. IT support works on rota, 1 person on site. Very similar to how it was during first lockdown. It seems that we have bot more pupils on site, I think they are divided in 4 groups , so maybe all together 60 on site, out of 1250. I think our management did very good job with preparing for it, as they created very robust plan for online teaching back in December - I think they predicted what is going to happen. Roll o spring
