Anyway, looks like schools around here (E. Sussex) are getting hit really hard. We have around 100 pupils self isolating and cover is becoming really difficult. Another school near us has more than 300 kids off and had to collapse classes to be able to keep them in school. But yeah, no need for the masks.

Was just sent home, started coughing this morning, really badly. HR said I need to go home and book PCR test. Been testing myself regularly with LFT on Weds and Sundays, yesterday negative. Was told that it is growing among the students and many of them tested negative with LFT but positive with PCR. Wife works in a different school, cases are growing there as well, now looks lie mainly among teachers. Not sure if this is best time to tells schools not to mandate mask wearing.

Hi David Thanks, yes we did check this before, as we had this problem last year. Still doesn't work. We though it might be our email system, blocking some parts of the emails. But we changed one pupils email to Hotmail and try register him, receives email with invitation, but no email with verification. But staff users have no problem at all, it looks like students are not being sent verification emails for some reason. We have reported the problem to Sims support, waiting for resolution

Hi All We use Sims options online. Last year it worked fine, but this year after students get a registration code, they login with their school Google account and they just get a blank screen just with option to logout. We found that is possibly send a verification email, but we are not getting any of these at all. Anyone had a similar issue?

If you have bit of money, Wizkids (https://www.wizkids.co.uk/) have a product called classroom manager. Web based , allows add users to a different classes - both teachers and students. As well it will show you classes by users. Really useful tool, I think I'm paying £500 pa for it. /I'm not being paid or rewarded by Wizkids - just like their product

Exactly what @Brimstone has said. It can't be just landed ad IT/Network manager and just sort it out. We have not progress to implementing it, but we had a look at options and what we want to achieve this. This was arranged with management team, people were assigned task to research learn etc. For us the main thing was a structure of how we lead this, how we train staff and how this devices going to be used daily. I was working with one person on knowledge/training needed and tools we can use. We already use heavily Google Classroom, all teachers use it now. But there are still gaps in knowledge. Using other school experiences, we proposes to create structure of Google Gurus - people that are highly trained in use of G Suite and can teach/help others. The whole process is progressing slowly and I don't think we will be going ahead even next year, but I welcome it. We have plenty of time to look at different options and learn from others. It is a massive decision and should not be rushed.

I think LFTs have improved a lot since we started using them. Still the main problem with accuracy if they are used properly. If people don't put the swab properly up the nose, just barely in - the test not going to detect it probably. On another note, there were few storied on the radio yesterday, where people had 2 LFT tests positive, but a negative PCR - just wonder if the labs are making mistakes again.

I think you would find it that people have their favourite suppliers, that they did build relation with. I have few I go to if I need something below 5k. But if is above that, there is really no difference who you go to. Many suppliers advertise here and are sponsors. In the past I have used Insight, as they had brill prices - not so much anymore. Often go to eBuyer - we bought lots of chromebooks from them, as they were to cheapest. Apart from this big names like SoftCat, Stone Computers, Novatech, JPUK (they used to have very good prices for Interactive TVs) I'm sure they will be many others

Thanks Paul, your suggestions worked. It is still bit weird how it is done. Pupils can create own channel, but Youtube will stop them from uploading any videos - so what is the point of giving them ability to create the channel??

Now I have another problem. On G suite we have disable YT app for students - we don't want them to upload vidoes using school account. But now on chromebooks it try to sign them in and they error message youtube is not available with your Google Account. I'm doing something wrong here?

if you have any budget for it, Wizkids have tools specifically for Google-MIS sync - I use their Edulife Classroom Manager and it is very good for what we need it to do.

In your situation, wouldn't it be easier for teachers to invite student to the new classroom? Just give them invitation code. Otherwise I think you would need to use GAM

Well, it still doesn't work. I did assigned staff to be 18 and over a few weeks ago, checked today and the settings is still there. Teacher came today and a video doesn't work Age restriction, cannot verify age. I though this settings should solve this problem !
