The UWP apps, like Camera, I'm not sure there is a way to hide them. They are automatically sucked into the start menu by Windows.

Restrict Saving into Root of Local Users Sharepoint Folder
TechMonkey replied to Scorpio's topic in Cloud Services
And if we treat everyone like children and wipe their behinds they will pick up learned helplessness and we will always have to run around after them. This is a training issue. Tell people that if they save in the top area, they could potentially lose their documents and they will definitely be harder to find. Maybe run a training session on good filing practices. Be proactive, engage people, don't hide behind technical fixes for things that are a people issue. Alternatively, carry on being shocked and having staff getting the hump when something happens to those documents and them asking why you never told them. -
So do as they say. Call duty SLT for everything. Log it, including the times no one turns up. I'd ask the question, what happens if you are all called out on jobs, who is managing/watching the kids? Does that mean you have to put off your main job to watch the pupils. But overall, if this is your role and your line managers are OK with it, you don't have a lot of recourse. It is up to them to show the figures and stats that productivity is down.

I haven't used Veeam with Hyper-V, but on VMware when I got errors like this a reboot of the target server usually solved the issue.

How to setup Surface Tablets for staff

Sounds like a good start. https://katystech.blog/mem/intune-part-1-autopilot-win10 is a good guide to use. -
It's not linked to Smoothwall, it will need to be sorted on your RADIUS server.

You need to have a valid server certificate for your Wi-Fi. There isn't a work around. https://www.securew2.com/blog/android-11-server-certificate-validation-error-solution/

Ah, I think you are using Freshdesk Support Desk. Sorry, I am using Fresh Service. That would explain the differences.

How rare. What does yours look like?

In Admin > General Settings section > Help Desk Security have you got "Redirect to SSO by default" on?

I do. I was offered prices under the framework from Vodaphone but had the price beaten by other companies. Speak to Three, if they have decent coverage in your area, as they are trying to build their business customer base quite aggressively. O2 matched Three and then Three requoted. Vodaphone does have the best admin portal I've seen so far but their prices are very high compared to the others. O2 have apparently updated theirs since I last used them so can't comment on that one.

How do you work out why you're receiving an email?
TechMonkey replied to kennysarmy's topic in Cloud Services
Their email didn't have any sensitive or personal information, did it? I seem to recall we'd get this occasionally and it was to do with some data loss protection. I thought they had made it so a covering email now was sent to the admins, but that may be a change in license. -
Are the DfE not setting the baseline that schools should be aiming for, to help with planning and budgeting? They aren't saying that you have to have these now.

My understanding is that if you are using SMTP Auth it isn't turned off, if you aren't MS will disable it but you can re-enable it. SMTP Auth will be the next thing to be gotten rid of, but as it is so ubiquitous MS made the decision to phase that out later.

Basically. FreshWorks say that FreshDesk is for external customers contacting in, whereas FreshService is for internal processes. I don't think it makes much difference as I know lots of people use FreshDesk for internal tickets.

Sophos Phish Training emails being quarantined by Office 365 :(
TechMonkey replied to kennysarmy's topic in Cloud Services
I am guessing the link is unique to identify the user and something is following the link to check it and setting off the unique link. What spam system do you use? Would be funny if it was Sophos triggering itself! -
As far as I am aware, using SMTP AUTH still works, with the right changes made, so just using that. Got rid of anon smtp ages ago, so apart from updating a couple of couples everything carries on regardless.

We've got 49.14 to 47.41 in favour of the portal. That has slipped a bit but it is publishing the portal address, pushing it hard and stating that jobs will get sorted quicker if we have all the information we need first time.

Can someone recommend a company that can quote for some iPads
TechMonkey replied to TwistedHelixis's topic in Hardware
I used Jigsaw 24, as suggested before, for a Macbook, very easy to use. -

Recommended way is to get them on to InTune and AutoPilot them. You can add them in bulk via a CSV or by a script on each device. I wouldn't bother with MDT, get your InTune policies set up and go from there. Once on AutoPilot you can run a Fresh Start, to clear all the preinstalled guff.
