I've messed about with surfaces before and always liked them. I know that one of them had wifi issues (earlier models) and was curious to see if there were any issues with the 4. Say someone who has deployed them at work being able to tell me if they have encountered any issues. I don't have a use for a tablet (iOS / Android) I just find it easier to use my phone. Actually I've got a nexus lying about I could sell too!! Hahahah! I like the idea of the pen. I have an old OLD RM tablet which works with a pen. I could never get it working reliably with Windows 7 though, so it got cast aside.

Not quite suitable for a projector though! Hahahah!

This happened with a couple of promethean projectors here. I got told there is nothing you can do and it's a new projector. Although part of me thinks you could swap out a part inside... that little 3 screen colour split block... but I'm not sure how difficult that would be. It would cost more to repair if you sent it off than to replace it.

How old is the Fujitsu @RichCowell ? There are no used ones on eBay!

Right... thinking it's time for a change! I'm thinking of possibly getting a Surface 4. Just looked and for a brand new one (i5, 8GB, 256GB) it's looking like £1000. I'd be willing to buy used. I'd probably sell all of my laptops to get this, so a Samsung i5, 8GB, 256SSD, Macbook pro 2011 i5, 8GB, 256SSD and an Acer 15" Chromebook. I don't really use these laptops for what I originally bought them for. Surface will be used for drawing methinks. What is everyones experience with the Surface?

but if you swap everything and it's still doing it, could be the mobo.... but try all the BIOS suggestions first.

Right.. sussed out it doesn't like groups of tiles. If I have just one big group it shows it perfectly. Strange no?

yeah one of them that's missing is Internet Explorer so definitely installed.

Ahhh ok. I reimaged my machine after applocker wouldn't remove itself after being applied. I've got a double wide start menu with all but 2 tiles. 1 I can explain, one I cannot. It's the most frustrating thing in the world!

Yeah Server 2008 R2 with imported GPO... I set them on that! Reimaged the machine now in an OU without the Applocker. I have my tools tiles, but it's a double wide menu again. FML I haven't changed anything!!!!!!!!!!!! *goes onto Server 2012 R2 to check* FOUND IT!!!

Right figured out it is to do with my app locker settings. Great. Go to change them... no longer can change them... wtf? Computer Config | Policies | Windows Settings | Security Settings | System Services | Application Control Policies only has then 3 options, which don't have the Appx Rules in there!

Right... I just copied the original xml and overwrote the one on my share and now the menu is displaying in one chunk! HURRAY! Now to work on the missing apps :/

Should the XML apply every time as new, or can it pull it from the local profile?

Tried enabling that policy and ran gpupdate /force but nothing yet. I'll reboot the laptop a couple of times...
