No worries. I still didn't want tea last night at 9pm. Might have to do some sort of activity for the next one. Earn our dinner

Flat/House Share Possessions Insurer Recommendations
Joanne replied to elsiegee40's topic in General Chat
I would have thought any insurer that does contents insurance would be able to do room insurance. Looks like there is some useful info here: https://www.spareroom.co.uk/content/info-flatsharing/shared-house-contents-insurance/ -

Teacher Laptops - Estimated cost for a decent spec
Joanne replied to Stormborn15's topic in General Chat
Because we are making sure that while we have the money now, we will be set for a good few years. Make hay while the sun shines and all that. Luckily my school has combated falling budgets by a steadily increasing roll number. We understand that not everyone is as lucky as us, but if OP has the budget, then why not buy the best? -

OK peeps... I've set up all social media (sort of) If you go to my website all the links are there - http://www.joannedraws.co.uk do they all work? Thanks! -
In group policy you can remove all printers... Do that as number 1, then add printers you want below. Although it might be worth keeping your printers on the server for a bit and do this, to make sure they definitely delete....

I have Pupil Shared and Staff Shared. Pupil Shared gets archived onto a USB HDD every summer and I archive photos/videos from Staff Shared. Definitely get an archive drive, be it USB or NAS. Then if you get rid of something someone needs, you can easily put it back.

Add on an extended warranty and a bag and £650 cover all of that! -
So the way I have it set up here.... children cannot print. Teachers must print for them if they need it. Each member of staff has a card and can only release their own jobs. Each year group gets a set amount of paper for the week. Each member of staff gets £20 credit per week. 2p for mono page and 5p for colour. Timeout for jobs is 8 hours I think.

For an i7 I'd say about £650. I bought i5's for our staff with the intention of them lasting 4-5 years. I estimated £550 per device and got what I wanted for that price -
Yes! I'll get a table booked.
-
I could never get it backed up to UNC, so I used VHD instead. I have to reconnect it everytime I reboot, but that's fine.
-
pah hahahah! So I think I count 6 people? I'll book a table.
-
Yeah my daily backup drive isn't mapped to the server... it's set up as a virtual hard drive and linked in disk management... I wonder if that is another layer or not?
-
just make sure that your ntfs permissions are all correct. I got hit in Jan and it used an account that didn't have access to all the things, so backups were fine. However, I also have Redstor and do a monthly backup to a HDD which goes in a safe.
-
Nah, I reckon it'll be fine. Shame they couldn't sort it for this weekend though...

Way Hay!

I'll avoid that then. Memebase is kinda getting like that. Just seem to be reposting the same old and then a collection of not funny pictures and calling them 'memes' which isn't what a meme is!
