Went to KFC last night and they wouldn't let us in the building until the app was scanned by everyone with us. Never had that issue in any place before.

Inserting YouTube Clips in PowerPoint Broken?
hardtailstar replied to smarties11's topic in Office Software
We dont use teams but have the same issue with PPT and YouTube. We found that if they want the video inserted into PPT then they needed to do the following for it to work in Internet Explorer Internet Explorer - internet options - Advanced - Security - Untick 'Do not save encrypted pages to disk' Inserting videos from Chrome does not work either. -
Our LA just told us we were getting windows laptops for those students that were eligible.

They are employed by the school so yes they have their own laptop and login details etc. Any supply teachers that we need to get in get given a laptop for the day with a generic login.

We have an email address that all teachers have to email their work to with date, classroom/class and lesson period. We have cover supervisors who have access to that email and pick the work up from there. It's also tracked by the person in charge off the cover supervisors and the head.

As we did during lockdown. All lesson material and homework is put on SMHW for those off to see what has been taught. Wee are moving to Google Classroom so I imagine it will be the same.

Why are some Secondary Schools still on Windows 7?
hardtailstar replied to free780's topic in Windows 7
Yes some humans cost more than other humans too. It may be free but when you have hardware that is about 10 years old and barely runs Win7 upgrading to Win 10 crashes the machines a lot. You are kind of stuck. But luckily the LA have been kind and funding some new hardware for us. -

That would be classed as inside. What you need is bus shelters.... -

This! You can have the best people in the world but if the school has no money then you cannot invest in good hardware. -
Currently we have our own school Google and a Academy Google accounts. We set up different profiles for Chrome and have no issues unless the teacher clicks on the wrong one! You could set out instructions on how to do that?

That wouldn't work at our school, most support staff here are required when kids and teachers are in. I think only about one or two could actually work from home full time. During lock down, I was only doing 5% of my job.... blooming password resets! 90% of my job is on site. -

How old was the tv?

@mrstrong Not entirely sure what is being used as we weren't involved in that, although every classroom has packets of wipes. It was a SLT decision for students to wipe down laptops/computers before and after. Maybe you could work it as a way of looking after the equipment for the older ones?

We had that last week. Currently SLT are looking at students who havent logged into Show My Homework and getting them to do it in school. Other departments have asked us for staff laptops so the support staff can work from home. The number of schools (primary & secondary) with cases in my home town is rising but the number of cases in Kent has dropped by 31%! -
We are using shared laptops, each laptop has a number and students are allocated that number so it can be traced if needed. All students wipe down the laptop at beginning and end of lesson.

New Government Laptop, ok but will trip users up...
hardtailstar replied to chazzy2501's topic in Hardware
Someone at your school might have had the email from DFE, it was passed onto us and we were able to log into a site to get BIOS and local Admin passwords.- 28 replies
