I'm not sure as we only have those that wish to to be the other sex that I've dealt with. Make sure that within Sims you keep the legal name (unless changed by deedpoll) and put new name in 'preferred'. It'll save embarrassment when emailing staff or parents as I found out!

Show My Homework / Satchel:One - Good/Mediocre/Bad?
hardtailstar replied to pete's topic in Educational Software
We used to have it but moved to Google Classroom during the pandemic. When it works it is really good and the support are really helpful. If like us you move students up in July to the next year group after year 11 & 13s leave. Essentially you have a month where you cant use it as it does the whole year change over according to Academic year in SIMs I know that is a school issue and not SMHW but they said for a few years that they would implement something for this as we werent the only school to do this but they hadnt done it by the time we left. Apart from that it was really useful, the reason we left was to save money and go full Google. What worked well for us as a school was having a member of teaching staff as an Admin dealing with password resets etc. Any technical stuff they would send to us. We also had a dedicated email for it so that parents/students could email that. -
English isnt my strong point at all. Auto correct is very much my friend.

We use stickers and a TA in the building that the trolley is in, is responsible for replacing stickers and reporting any issues to us. Works well since we came back from lockdown.
-
We use Windows devices and Chromebooks with Bandlab. This has seemed to work well on both.

Literally thought that it was the delivery company Hermes with the expensive Airtag holder...... Some joke about it being lost and then turning up broken and cut up

We have the same. They seem robust enough so far even with the usual suspects.

When I worked in a primary school, the external company would take the old kit even though it was bought and paid for by the school. They soon stopped doing that when I found out that they were property of the school.

Duly noted. If you buy two and direct them at each other do they then explode? -

What happens if you have it the wrong way round? -
We have this in our conference room - https://meetingdevices.withgoogle.com/en_gb/products/5768/asus-google-meet-hardware-kit-large-room-kit/ The trust that runs our school has one in every school. From what I've heard from staff it works really well and easy to use for a non techy person.

We use Gmail and Google Chat. Although everything has to go via the helpdesk so that there is a record of it. This isn't followed as strictly as it should be by teachers.
-
If you are videoing the school show, you will also need an external microphone to pick up the sound so make sure the video camera has a mic jack too. Unless you are going to record the audio separately.
