  1. Hiya Can you also send me an email to [email protected] so I know who you are and can look into your specific school issues. Many thanks Jenny
  2. Hi Peter Sorry to hear this ... I will check out any tickets raised and see how we can move this forward. Will email you direct. Thanks. Jenny
  3. Hi Patrick Will check out what is happening at your school though at a quick glance there is a .NET Framework error? Hope you also mentioned on here, the large amount of time spent (weeks) developing a bespoke assessment analysis tool for your school as required by your SLT Keep me updated and will catch up soon Jen
  4. Hiya Pop me an email at [email protected] so I know who you are and I can look into whatever the issue is and hopefully resolve asap. Thanks Jenny
  5. It can write back automatically into SIMS ... medical info, telephone/mobile numbers, address etc... however we would recommend that it is checked by Admin and you choose to say 'yes' (tick boxes) if you are happy for that data to write back into SIMS....just in case parents add incorrect data such as '999' for emergency number
  6. - do your SIMS marksheet link up? (i.e. can teachers enter data in to SIMS marksheets online?) YES -- it is an add-on. Please PM me or contact office for details - can parents reset their own passwords via the website? YES. INSIGHT creates passwords for parents (Active Directory for Pupils and teachers log in using their SIMS username and password)
  7. Hi Jon Please also note that INSIGHT is 'true' realtime presenting SIMS data and not overnight / every few hours update as many others are. The log in screen can also look dull if you leave as default setting however you can personalise. If you do a google search on TASC INSIGHT you will see other schools login pages and also guides for their parents they have added displaying their own themes/colours/icons. Jenny
  8. Hi DR3W Firstly may I apologise that all your questions were not answered during the demonstration. Little frustrating however I believe the person who demonstrated is a young lady who has now left the company so unable to re-train accordingly or turn back the clock so I am sorry about that. If you email my team on [email protected] or call 01902 824281 they will give you all the information you need and will be happy to assist. All above is straight forward to answer and easy to manage...I could answer all on this forum however this could be deemed as 'selling' and I may get a virtual slap off the Edugeek guys! I would contact you direct if I could suss out who you are. Many thanks Jenny
  9. Hi Rich Did try and call. Sad to see you go when we never got to the bottom of the issue. PARS.net worked fine on your School site and performance was great .. in fact rather fast ... though I agree PARS Connect was dire. We have had a few Schools who have performance issues though we have resolved most over the phone quickly or after a couple of days (even though we are not IIS Server specialist / Networking guys..just mere software developers ) Issues have been a number of things....spec, Server config settings, incorrect port settings, bottlenecks, External hosting..... very had to pinpoint! I've also been on many Schools sites and Connect is extremely quick and no issues at all. An issue I have come across which IS related to PARS Connect software and not IIS Server is when a School have 10,000s or behaviour referrals and 10,000s notices sitting clogging up the system. These can be cleared automatically if configurations are set to do so ... which is a 2 minute 1 off job. Also, if a member of staff is receiving 50 behaviour referrals a day... then this is not configured correctly. A referral is sent not just to make a member of staff aware of an incident, it is about referring for a member of staff to DEAL with an issue. If staff do have 50+ incidents a day and not 'dealing' with the issues updating comments etc.... then they will not be clearing them. This means referral rules are not right for what you need. Behaviour Alerts is best for that! (i've added that for other readers) I'll catch up with some time Rick Cheers Jen
  10. Hiya.... we can add more 'juicy' developments in Connect being a web based product than in .net which now is slowly becoming 'old skool' technology. We are having to move with the times and we are still updating PARS.net. It will be many years before we see this completely replaced with Connect. New Schools purchase PARS Connect and use that via desktop/laptop/touch/iPad/Mobile etc..... although when supplied, we do also give the School .net Client We've been approached reference offsite hosting also ... with Connect/web based ... feasible. Onsite hosting always first recommendation to ensure security plus you have to make sure you have a decent IIS Server to handle all the traffic! Hope this helps a little ... please feel free to call in the office if you would like a more in depth chat Thanks Jenny
  11. Hi Steve ..... lots of assessment analysis in Connect; being web based we can produce some really excellent residual data, performance tracking....seating plans as you say are there displaying key data; fsm, target grades.... many benefits via mobile (web view and NOT an app) ... example, pupil on trip, falls, hospitalised....staff have quick access to parent data/telephone numbers.... It really does depend on your Schools needs Steve. The new tracking saves money buying segregated grading software. Seating plans save Schools an extra £500ish a year. Speed; this is very dependant on your IIS Server; configurations etc. Let me know if you want us to pop over to re-demo Jen
  12. (COUGH )
  13. ....urrrr hum
  14. I will see if I can find some contacts for you Steve ... the way many Schools look at this is if a parent has an issue, then contact the School directly and arrange a meeting; not argue over a forum. Would have to be managed well certainly; though that would mean more work for you. :/ Jen
  15. Yes... speak to us again Pete... can't say too much on here as deemed as advertising ... you can post your finds Jenny
  16. Hi all It was a Government 'recommendation' and managed by BECTA at the time that all Secondary Schools have a way for parents to access attendance, tracking and SEN data remotely by 2010 and Primary Schools by 2012....that was until BECTA were ..... de-quango'd! The aim was to enable communication for those parents hard to communicate with (not sure I agreed with this....if a parent not bothered to go to a parents evening, are they really bothered to login and check online!) Schools have since realised how it helps communication within the parent, pupil, teacher triangle and the costs saving with a paper free electronic system.
  17. Thank you for mentioning TASC PARS Steve May be also worth having a look at some of the reports we can create using both SIMS ASM and PARS own grades whilst looking at reporting....nice and parent friendly and bespoke to Schools. Saw a post earlier mentioning having to export grades to create a bespoke report. Don't need to using PARS as it will just create the design report based on Schools own calculations, designs and rules. Presentation1.pptx
  18. Edugeek Moderators...Quakers is a PARS user :-)
  19. Hiya Pars > pupil info button (i in tool bar) ... PARS IEP .... we have our own aswell as links to SIMS. May be worth checking it out. Allows you to create your own targets, free text comments... PARS wiki; Jennys training guides, bottom right if main page...section on IEP. ...just options :-) Jen
  20. Hi Andy My support can sort this for you 01902 824281 ... Connect and INSIGHT are compatible with i-technology...sounds like you may need an update on certificate or browser. Can't assist too much on forum though feel free to give them a bell. many thanks Jenny
