  1. If you want it quick I'd do it quick and the quicker you do it the quicker quick will be!
  2. Aah prime day where they take something that usually goes for 100 the rest of the year put it up to 150 for July and then put it back down to 100 for prime day so it looks like your getting a total bargain. BUY NOW!!
  3. Hang on guys and gals don't nominate yet, I am just registering my charity - PotNoodleTech Edu hobnob and possibly beer hardship fund Ltd.
  4. I just thought I'd let you guys know that I had one of these screens to use for the school show and to test out and it's a great board. I was dubious at first as had not had much to do with Samsung in a professional sense, I thought it was going to be aimed/modified home user device but can categorically state it will be great for schools. It's very highly integrated into google/android - more so that smart or Clevertouch in that it isn't a "modified /overlaid/skinned version of android", it's just native android - really it comes across as easy to use as a ginormous phone/tablet. You can literally turn it on, log in with a school google account and get teaching within 60 seconds, without any other devices required. It can also be added into your google tenancy and fully enrolled as a managed device too. Overall - big thumbs up and I've got some 86" boards ordered.
  5. Coming to a parking space near you... ... no, coming to TWO parking spaces near you!!!
  6. To cut to the chase - no the logging and reporting in sims is from the 1980s and isn't fit for purpose in the modern age. If the members of staff just have "class teacher" permissions then they should not be able to view any confidential data of other staff. If they have had their permissions elevated in system manager then they may be able to. Probably worth looking at system manager permissions.
  7. Brilliant - I've still got 2 in the shed can't bar to throw them out their so cool!!
  8. Wow bricked the board? Thats me turning auto updates off methinks.
  9. Oh talking of CRTs Mike - you knew you had arrived with your beige full tower lan party PC when you had the............... ............. Mitubishi Diamondtron monitor
  10. It's fine what you worrying about!
  11. She is a thing of beauty. Well done for keeping her. Man there's some beauties in here and I think I've had them all at some point. The PCIE blower fan under each 3dfx voodoo 2, the 5.25" speaker. How about the psion series 3/5? I used to think I was the don in 6th form with one of them - and me HP ipaq, and me iomega jazz drive. Oh yes. memories.
  12. How could your exam grades ever be considered public? If the school has made them public e.g. posted them in the newspaper that doesn't make them "public data" that just means you've breeched GDPR...
  13. Hmm sorry for being dubious but ... Now here's the kicker - there is absolutely nothing environmentally friendly about creating a PC that uses what looks to be a proprietary case, proprietary power supply, proprietary motherboard i.e 90% of the PC. Proprietary parts are the least eco friendly parts available as once the three year warranty is up and the manufacturer decides to stop making parts and move on, you are unable to maintain that PC buy upcycling old parts off ebay or facebook marketplace for example to keep the thing running in year 5 - 10. So......it becomes instant E-Waste actually far less environmentally friendly than a traditional MITX/MATX PC and case?
  14. Having been there and done it all - synology are the way forward now the software interface is fantastic the back end NAS boxes better than any other CCTV manufacturer, and the cameras good plus you can use other make cameras if you pay a reasonable license fee per camera so I don't have to replace the expensive existing PTZ ones.
  15. We already had casio bulbless ones but most are being replaced with 86" samsing boards. I'v got two big ones in the hall and gym. Hall is a £3k epson bulb Gym is a £3k epson laser The bulb one has superior image quality and brightness. So bare that in mind if you think a replacement big laser is gonna be just as good as your bulb one it probably isnt and you may need to go up a more expensive model in the lineup.
  16. Almost as good as your post!
  17. @Olliekai this your issue???
  18. I loved my reserator wish I never got rid of it now - the sound of absolute silence. Very underrated. Yes the case was monumental money if I recall.
  19. Did you ever try the reserator? That was friggin cool.
  20. Lian Li cases. I used to think I was the daddy back in the day with my PC70 with hot swap SCSI drives that I couldnt fit in my mini to take to lan partys.
  21. Well it's up to each techie if they want to entertaining getting an extra grand or not? Either way I am flabbergasted that the relevant expertise is not currently within bromcom.
  22. I think people are going a bit over the top here - it's just a bit of fun and I think it's cool to put the challenge out to us techs but sadly bromcom didnt realise how downright grumpy most of you are. Someone who's pie hot at sql/spreadsheet/pdf data mining could grab an easy £1000 here and have a bit of fun in this thread whilst doing it - and all I see is entitled moaning?
  23. Strong classroom management is the only way.
  24. You'll have to pop to some European countries to test it!!
  25. I've got loads, looks like I can retire!
