Indeed, just testing, honest! which updates set the reg entry to change back to 0? I rebooted after re-enabling it and it was still set to 1

Just the client I'd disabled over the weekend - Set-ItemProperty -Path "HKLM:\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanmanServer\Parameters" SMB1 -Type DWORD -Value 1 -Force I'd not asked them about it, I'd just assumed that's why it stopped, so enabled it again after I saw your post just to see if it worked again and it was fine... maybe they're assuming people will leave SMB disabled?

Which version are you using? I've just re-enabled SMB on my PC and the Impero server and the Deploy MSI list is populated as normal again... (Using 6.0.76)

I was going to recommend the Fujitsu Stylistic as it rivals the Surface at a far better price, but the battery life isn't great... If I was looking now I'd get the Fujitsu Lifebook U937... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZvmBSrL3vDo&feature=share -
I think I've got quite a few to have destroyed so I'll bring them all with me too

We put staff on the guest network if they want to use their own devices - if they need to access the network they can use remote access - works perfectly for us and has saved a whole lot of hassle...
-
We are too as a school, so it'd be the same, but when it's a member of staff's own device / own money, I feel awful for recommending them...
-
We used to use them too, until we recommended them to a member of staff here for their personal laptop, they sent the wrong screen initially, then wouldn't give a refund... so we don't use them any more... I can't be doing with that lack of after sales service... It's been months now and they've still not had a refund, so certainly not one I recommend any more either.

I've got data back on my mobile, but can't tether anything - can anyone else that's been affected see if they can tether? (the hotspot activates, and devices can connect, just no internet).

ANME Birmingham Meeting 03 (28 April)
RichCowell replied to RichCowell's topic in Birmingham Grid for Learning (BGfL)
Fingers crossed it doesn't die!! No way of identifying yourself easily at the moment, unless you've got an EduGeek pin badge or lanyard? I'll look into options for including usernames on the InVentry badges at future events once I've got a bit of time... Lunch starts at 1210 assuming everything runs to schedule, so 1300 will be cool -

I've updated the agenda slightly - a running order with times will be published about a week before the event, but it will include everything listed on the site/Portal now. -

There should be a line at the start with :IMP though so it loops back to the beginning and you can do loads in sequence... -
Spiceworks has that information, when you're looking at a decide on the inventory it will tell you which port of which switch it's plugged into, so I'd guess there's a way of getting that data out as it's just on a database... there may even be a tool / add-in already to do it... that's where I'd start though if I was doing that as we use Spiceworks already...

ANME Birmingham Meeting 03 (28 April)
RichCowell replied to RichCowell's topic in Birmingham Grid for Learning (BGfL)
Great news! Numbers are looking good, so should be a great meeting! It'll be good to meet you in person too! -
Mine was the first in the country last May (hand delivered by Fujitsu at an event I was at lol), so pretty new still...
-
Also - the Fujitsu's are field-serviceable so you can do repairs etc. or have engineers come out depending on your warranty, rather the Surfaces which have to be sent away if repairs are needed...
-
I've never heard anything bad about the Surface, but I'd definitely recommend the Fujitsu Stylistic R726 instead - pretty much identical, but significantly cheaper... I've had the i7 / 8GB / 500GB SSD for about a year now and love it... Comes with the keyboard and pen as standard too.
-
Agreed! It's good and I'm loving it, but I'm usually too done-in and out of brain-power by the time I get home to play...
