  1. Would you like some Fisherman's Friends? I've brought a box full so have plenty... Sent from my Pixel 3 XL using EduGeek mobile app
  2. Already following on Twitter, but liked on Facebook now too...
  3. I'll be there all four days, as will @ticker and @muppet - all based on the NetSupport stand - looking forward to catching up with people there!
  4. I've ripped it... Just uploading it now, PM me if you want the link...
  5. We have done ours in house for years now, got it from Digital ID - can't recommend them highly enough, their support has been fantastic - https://www.digitalid.co.uk/product/idp-smart-31-card-printer-2608
  6. I've used Photoshop to create things like this in the past - just found this tutorial that shows how to create an isometric template: https://design.tutsplus.com/tutorials/create-an-isometric-action-and-apply-it-to-an-icon-in-adobe-photoshop--cms-24814 - should work well at a much higher resolution
  7. Teacher App is quite poor imho, and the setup was a faff... Not sure re. the accounts, we use O365 so it's not been an issue... There definitely doesn't seem any point in getting it if the teachers aren't using tablets though... The only way it's used here is on iPads, and only in school... PARS does sound like it'd be a better fit for you...
  8. I was asked about this some time ago, and spent quite a bit of time looking into the options (though there may be better options now, it was a few years ago) - in the end SLT listed to the advice that it does not need a technical solution, and that staff just need to be asked/told not to email out of hours. Our Head announced that in briefing once and the reduction in out of hours emails was remarkable... They still happen of course, but only usually more important ones, and everyone knows they are not expected to act/reply out of hours, so there is less of a feeling of obligation to deal with things there and then. Like @crc-ict - I disabled notifications for my school emails on my phone - still syncing, so I can check them quickly if I need to, but I'm not hounded by them all evening/weekend...
  9. Gutted We've only recently started using them but already love their stuff...
  10. Could the client write the IP address to a local file then share that drive (maybe create a new small partition just for the text file) - if you can get the TS to read from that shared local drive?
  11. I looked into this a few years ago when we were using some thin clients as we use BGINFO on the workstations but couldn't find any way of doing that...
  12. Definitely worth considering others - I wish ours had gone with something else, we had a nightmare getting Parent App sorted, and Capita were as unhelpful as always... In addition to the suggestions already made I'd check out Weduc too... https://weduc.co.uk/
  13. Those lists are quite specific to the CSE content - they're not likely to be stumbled upon, so wouldn't get flagged unless someone is actively and intentionally accessing them. They wouldn't get the support and reputation they get, including their lists etc. winning awards if they were negligible or redundant.
  14. The IWF does proactively seek out evidence of CSE online - though that's a relatively new change... The ANME is a member of the IWF as I know some of the companies sponsoring EduGeek like NetSupport and Smoothwall are too, and I fully support the work they're doing and what they're trying to achieve... They're never going to make their lists available to just anyone though - that would be like handing out lists of where to look for the very material they're fighting to reduce/stop. You're right about it not being a first line of defence for schools - or anyone - though for a school to not have something in place that includes their lists in their filtering would be a risk I would never be willing to take...
  15. I got the Enterprise version from @AJWhite1970's recommendation and after seeing him demo it while I was at his school - great piece of kit, never regretted it... I didn't bother trying the free version as I'd heard what the advantages were (though I can't remember the difference now)
  16. @mikeprice - they can if they're using up to 11.4, but it'll stop working eventually... You can't blame SMART for charging for SLS - we've had it pretty good for years, being able to install and use the software all over school after just buying one board... they need to charge to justify developing the software and features... Most software's going SAAS, hasn't Promethean gone the same way? I've never looked into the costs or licensing models for that, but I'd heard it had...
  17. Yep - that's gone now as far as I know - the ANME worked closely with SMART in the 12 months to April and they sent quite a bit of information over... You can use the very basic features of SLS for free - but it has the watermark on the documents, and requires users to create a free account and sign in - so you don't need to subscribe unless you want to use more of it.
  18. For the newer SMART Learning Suite (SLS) it's based on the ratio of SMART : Non-SMART devices... If you've got 75%+ SMART devices, you get the cheaper price. If you've got 45%-75% SMART it's the higher price... The information I've had doesn't mention anything about schools with less than 45% SMART - probably assuming you wouldn't want it then, unless you're just moving to SMART...
  19. It can take a bit of time to get the GPO's set up initially once you get your head round it, but I've not needed to do anything with it since then... so that's always a bonus!
  20. Our office staff love it as they can send a message to any member of staff that's logged on, regardless of location... and also see where they're logged on too... so they no longer need to go chasing staff for not doing their registers etc. I believe it can be used for teachers in classrooms to quickly send alerts back to a predefined group in emergencies too, though we've not set that up (yet).
  21. I use InVentry but don't use iSAMS but I know it can write back and it works well... I believe InVentry are a partner of iSAMS too...
  22. We've got quite a few KM MFP's can't rate them highly enough... We go through a reseller rather than direct with KM, but they've been reliable for us in the years we've been using them - certainly more so than some of the other brands we've used... Only mentioning as you're an ANME member - but KM "should" be at our next NW meeting in November - though I would imagine you'll have made your decision by then...
  23. I was looking a while ago to see if there had been any updates since the version we've been using which was around 2005 I believe, couldn't find anything anywhere... It was good while it lasted, but isn't flexible enough now... We've gone with Room Booking System by School Cloud Systems instead - reasonably priced and works really well... https://www.roombookingsystem.co.uk/
  24. Awesome, thank you!
