That's the same screen I get, but there's no info on how to configure the black lists... you can add new ones, but not info about how to enter e.g. 12.12.0.50-12.12.3.149 - I've tried it like that but it doesn't work... so just scans everything...

Hi All, Just installed The Dude after seeing recommendations on here... but struggling to find any info on configuring the Black lists to exclude IP ranges from scans... I only want it to scan the IPs of the servers, switches, and printers... I've looked at their online manuals, but can't see any info re. setting them up correctly... +1 for School Asset Manager - we used to try to maintain a spreadsheet but it was a nightmare... We had a demo of it a few years ago but it was too expensive, but they dropped their prices last year so we saw it again and went for it... It's handy just being able to make changes or additions from several devices anywhere... Happy to talk through it if you've got questions...

I'd planned to do that, but there could still several hundred different videos that would need to be approved in advance... I know there are certain channels & videos that YouTube have pre-approved, but I'm sure there won't be enough... Definitely needs some work before it's really fit for use...

Good Morning All! I'm looking into starting with YouTube for Schools here, but got one major concern before doing any more with it... The music department are one of the biggest users and frequently request it to be unblocked for their rooms - which is fine, but they usually need to get pupils researching all sorts of different music, so it'd be pretty impossible to pre-approve everything they may need - examples of all the different genres / classical / cultural / etc. Has anyone set it up and come across similar issues? Have you found a way around them?

We've got interactive TVs in a few rooms which as someone else has said are far brighter, clearer, and don't need filters cleaning or lamps replacing... An alternative to Apple TV is to use AirServer, which needs installing on the PC, but is software based and shows up the same on the iPads as Apple TV does... We've got 45 licences for it, and have some problems picking all machines up sometimes, I've known others that have used it without the same problems...

There's a few staff here doing it... my attempt would be laughable in comparison, but I've said I'll try it next year... is it cheating to get a week's head start by not shaving the last week of October too? Though I'm not sure it'd help much! lol

Another thumbs up for Impero - we've had it for several years now, and although it's not as cheap as it was, the features you get from it are awesome... Their support is fantastic too. Happy to discuss further if you're interested...

Could you get someone in to build a platform / dais to go from the wall out for a couple of meters, then the desk would sit on that, and the cables could be run underneath easily enough? I've seen similar solutions built in the past to resolve this exact issue...

I use Impero Software) to block things like USB - you can do it for specific users / groups (rooms)... Works nicely, though quite expensive if you don't need all the other many features...

I looked at the SIMS option, and Bromcom a while ago, we've since reviewed them again and gone with PARS and PARS Connect... just in the process of getting going with it now... Definitely worth checking out, and was cheaper than Bromcom and considerably cheaper than SIMS... We've not started using it fully yet, but I'd be happy to answer any questions I can...
