SwiftKey did this a few months back. I assume it's an advertising thing, like if people record videos of their phone's UI like early youtube tutorials did. You know the ones. With notepad open and unscripted 'um, er' voiceovers.. Bugs me, too, but you learn to ignore it.

Unless they think "Get everyone gone, bump up the price, get new folks in, make more money!" How realistic that is I couldn't say. But you get it with housing estates and stuff, I could imagine it happening in other industries.

I mean I see the point, but it just screams of slacktivism to me. I'd rather we pay them a decent salary and stop gouging the NHS of its resources. But writing to your local MP is too much effort I think COVID-19 has shown us how woefully underprepared for this we were, and I'll definitely be writing myself. Maybe I'm just an old git. I just see people posting to facebook and patting themselves on the back and I can't help but feel they've they're congratulating themselves for achieving nothing.

Gone Girl A very well written movie with a gripping plot and a great twist ending...... If it had ended halfway through. Unfortunately, the movie is 2+ hours long and at the halfway mark, the 'villain' (of sorts) has won. It would have been a bitter ending, it would have been an unfair ending (relating to the story and its characters), but it would have been an amazing point to end on. But they didn't. They spent the next half of the movie showing the 'villain's' plans going awry and them having to frantically adapt and jump from idea to idea. They lost a lot of the cold and calculated cruelty they had been built up to have, they were no longer twelve steps ahead and devolved into a panicked mess grasping at the closest idea. I can't help but feel like it ruined their character in the end, and as such, the second half of the movie was pretty hollow compared to the first.

My tech and I are still in, but we're splitting the week (aside from Mondays, as a catch-up/planning day) I think there's some prudence to having support on-site if there are still people in the building.
