Get a different router, this is something that should be handled at a network level, PC based is too easy to get around. You could look into QoS which your router should support. You could also look at openwrt or something like that on an existing or cheap WAP off eBay.

I've helped setup the VM thin client server thing, VMware esxi and a bunch of hosts you can connect to, works alright but frame rate for some stuff is still an issue. If you have the right board with vt-d support and the right gpus you can feed a GPU and a couple of USB ports to each VM, can work better than MPS for raw power as games etc. Work, you can still RDP to them or others in the background from other machines.

Rsop logging is a big one but I heard that messing with that stuff directly in an RM network.

It depends on what you mean by premium, the kinect hardware before mass, uniform production would have cost me at least a couple of thousand dollars. On special I got hit for the princely sum of $100 nz, probably 35p in your counties currency. If it is specialty and an add on it is likely it will be priced as an accessory hence just above impulse buy price point. MSR stuff while epic only comes to market every so often, the ideas though end up embedded in all sorts of stuff, long term stuff mainly. They usually work at least five to ten years in the future, from a release point of view. It's probably where apple gets all it's ideas that aren't from Intel.

If I remember right there are DLL calls that can easily change the focus to a specific window handle. Perhaps a custom launcher application that opens the exe, thus getting its window handle then setting the window and control focus to the required app. Just because you didn't write the app does not mean you can't puppet it via windows handles.

They don't make you use special TVs so unless it required some special additional components it'll probably just be standard projectors.

MS robotics studio interfaces with all sorts of robot gear, has a simulation environment, some ai stuff if I recall and is free. Probably way more scaleable for all types of robotics including the Lego NXT stuff. http://www.microsoft.com/robotics/
