  1. Great! No problem
  2. Hi gregray, author of classroombookings here! It looks like permissions for the database user is the cause of those errors, or it's connecting to the IPv6 address which the permissions aren't set up for, or doesn't have access to the classroombookings database. If MySQL is running on the same server as the web server (Apache/IIS), try using '127.0.0.1' as the database host, or the IPv4 address if it's another server. Also make sure that the user you created has permission to connect from the server. Craig.
  3. That's cool, none taken! Let me know if there's anything I can help with.
  4. (Hi, author of classroombookings here!) Sorry to hear staff didn't take to the idea of it Was it the move to a digital system they weren't keen on, or something specific about classroombookings itself? Keen to hear about any pain points people have (either admin or staff) so I can try and make it better. Thanks!
  5. I'd also recommend Krystal for hosting, absolutely brilliant. I use them for VPS, reseller hosting and domains. They're UK, independent, secure, and reliable.
  6. I've made another update to this which allows you to specify the full format of the Bind DN for the authenticating user. Get 2.3.0-beta.2.zip
  7. Hi @srochford, just dropping in to let you know that I'm making version 2.3.0 beta available now, which contains experimental support for LDAP authentication if you're still pursuing classroombookings for your needs. Room categories will also be coming soon. Get 2.3.0-beta.1.zip More details
  8. Thanks for the response! OK. Sorry to hear that your job is at risk! Very concerning. I hope it doesn't come to that, or if it does, you can quickly find another. For the other stuff - leave it with me, I'll look at my workload for the next few weeks and see what's going to be possible. I presume you're using the 'One day at a time' view setting, as you mentioned the page full of rooms (desks). Re: LDAP: if you could import accounts from CSV (to create the users), but just have the password authenticated via an LDAP bind/connection when people log in - would that be sufficient? Another option might be to look at using MRBS instead - it natively supports areas and rooms, time slots (rather than periods), and LDAP.
  9. Fantastic, glad it's working!
  10. Hi Lewis, definitely looks like permission problem on the local/sessions folder. Make sure it exists (it should do) - if not, create it. If it does exist, it needs read/write permissions by the web server user account and/or group. This varies depending on configuration, but a common user account is 'www-data'. If you need to set the user ownership, you could run 'chown -R www-data:www-data /var/www/html/crbs-2.2.0/' to recursively change the owner + group to www-data. If it's already the correct user, you will need to set or reset the permissions. 'chmod -R 755 /var/www/html/crbs-2.2.0/local' should work. The whole 'local' folder actually needs read/write, so it's worth checking that too.
  11. Hi Steve! Yes, I agree that the the long list of 300 desks isn't ideal at all! It was never intended to 'support' that many bookable things - but adding tags, categories or parent/child relationship functionality, so users can browse/filter them, is definitely something that I've thought about (and been asked about!) before, but have never gotten round to adding it. Especially in larger organisations, as well - it's definitely something that's made it more of a priority. Regardling LDAP: again, it's another popular request and would be a great addition. CodeIgniter doesn't have native support for LDAP (it doesn't even have native authentication functionality) - so these things have to be added via custom or third-party libraries. What's your timescale for implementing it, if it had one or both of those features? And is there a budget?
  12. Hi Lewis! There's a mode where you can enable the errors to be displayed. Presuming this is with version 2 - create a new plain text file called '.env' in the same place as index.php. Put the word 'development' in it (no quotes), save it, and reload the page. That should give some more details as to what's happening to cause the 500. You can (and should) delete the file once it's all installed and you no longer need to see them. Put the output of the error message here and I'll try and help
  13. Overpriced furniture & fashion retailer Laura Ashley collapses.
  14. I was with Virgin Media just over a year ago, but the connection would drop regularly and repeatedly, they reported "issues in the area" and engineers were on it, but it went on for weeks and weeks. As I work from home, the stability was having a massive impact (more than just a minor annoyance). I cancelled Virgin, activated the BT line and joined Zen - and it's been fantastic. There's a green cabinet at the end of my (short) street so my sync speed is great, and there's no bandwidth limit. They now have a liftime price guarantee and recently lowered their prices. Can't fault them at all
  15. They also have a lot of problems with being blacklisted, particularly Microsoft - their status page is full of them
  16. Yes, their cloud hosting has had huge performance and reliability issues for a while now. It seemed to get a lot worse after their parent company was bought by GoDaddy.
  17. Yes, the code that checks for duplicates (there is a little issue with it checking recurring ones) doesn't acutally run when you make multiple bookings by ticking the boxes
  18. OK, I think I can see where the problem with this is. Can you try making the same recurring bookings by following these steps please: View the bookings page for the day/room you want to book. Tick the boxes for the booking (or bookings!) you want to make. Enter the details for Notes and User at the bottom of the table. Click Make Recurring Booking button. Does that work?
  19. Oh no! Can you tell me which version of classroombookings you're running please? It should say in the footer on every page.
  20. Brilliant, glad it's sorted! Some issues I've had with access for MySQL users is down to which host they're granted access from as well as which one you use to connect to the server; sometimes 127.0.0.1 is treated differently from localhost. Yes that's mine too, albeit also a bit old now!
  21. Great! Are the database details definitely correct in local/config.php? Have you tried both 127.0.0.1 and localhost for the hostname bit, if MySQL is on the same server? Does the user exist, and have access to the classroombookings database? Also, which version of MySQ are you using?
  22. Hi! Can you try updating the "local/config.php" file again with these values: 'index_page' => 'index.php?', 'uri_protocol' => 'QUERY_STRING', Adding a question mark to index.php might help. If not, again, please try the other suggested values in my previous post for the "uri_protocol" setting.
  23. Hi Techie-v2! Thanks for trying out classroombookings. Please bear in mind that IIS isn't officially supported, and I don't have much experience with modern IIS, but I'll try to help get it running! "I have modified the config file with my site name." - is this the IIS config, or one of the classroombookings ones? Anyway; the error you're getting is because it can't detect the URL format that IIS is passing. To get this to work could be a bit of trial and error, trying a few different possible config values. The installation process usually writes your configuration file at the end of the process, but to fix this problme you have, you'll need to do this by hand. Create the file "local/config.php" and add this contents: defined('BASEPATH') OR exit('No direct script access allowed'); return array( 'config' => array( 'base_url' => 'http://server/classroombookings/', 'log_threshold' => 1, 'index_page' => 'index.php', 'uri_protocol' => 'QUERY_STRING', ), 'database' => array( 'dsn' => 'mysql:host=127.0.0.1;dbname=classroombookings', 'hostname' => '', 'username' => 'USER', 'password' => 'PASS', 'database' => '', 'dbdriver' => 'pdo', ), ); Try to load classroombookings again. If it still doesn't work, change the bit that says 'QUERY_STRING' to 'PATH_INFO', and try accessing it again. You will also need to add your database details in there as well - the host (if different from localhost), database name, username, and password. Let me know how you get on!
  24. No problem! Hope you get the support from them that you need
  25. Hi Liam, it looks like this was taken over by Tucasi (Snapshot of website from 2012).
