Yep, all incoming messages. The .9 address is the mx servers - for receiving mail. All the test messages I have sent are coming from .254 so it should work. This is unless the original sender uses SPF. At that point, it may bounce to the original sender. Googles advice here is to add your old address to your 'send mail as' addresses, and this will bypass the check. Office365 might have the same?

Knowing we're using the same LEA system @themightymrp. Which IP are you putting into your connection filter? Our email is forwarding quite happily to google apps from the IP 82.203.3.254.

We used school.local for our AD domain name. This did cause us a few minor issues a year later when adding Macs (who by default use the DNS name MACNAME.local) but nothing major. At other schools I've used .lan to bypass any of these issues.

Annoying yes, and more complicated than it should be but you can set a port on your sky router as DMZ, then use another router connected on that port to do everything you want.

The sky tv man who visted me last week said they're being run ragged due to this offer. He had 12 jobs to complete that day. @tmoon-mint Sky's own network seems to be rock solid for me. I know of issues when they provision you on BT wholesale equipment though. If you're on sky equipment in the exchange (LLU), it could be something else within your home or on your street causing the evening slow down. Have you disconnected your ring wire for example?

Seems a little daft. I've never been an O2 customer, but have been a sky broadband customer for years and am usually very impressed with the communication from them. I'm having a new sky connection put in on Saturday, and they've text/emailed me at every point without being too irritating.

I exported reader to feedly when the announcement came from google. Since then I've used RSS less and less. Twitter is now my main source of news.

Information has to be secure, networks must be protected and users have to be monitored. However none of these are issues that can't be overcome with a bit of planning, money and time. We allow sixth form students and staff to BYOD. We use firewalls, encryption and secure passwords to keep information secure, VLANs, ACLs and device segregation to protect the network, and AUPs, filtering and monitoring to keep the users safe. All of which should already be set up even if you don't allow BYOD really. I think the arguments for not allowing people to use the devices they all ready own are becoming weaker by the day.

I use vidahost's cloud server offering for my personal domains (would it be wrong to pop an affiliate link in ). Really pleased with the level of service and bang for buck. At School we use SeeGreen who also designed our website. Nothing bad to say about them really.

Too many policies and guidelines either confuses people, or ensures they wont read the vast quantities in my opinion. We've created a kind of 'connect with respect' ethos around provision. Simple straightforward rules which should cover everyone's devices, and any medium.

Hi @kaphc I've just had a look at some of my switches. My 7363 access points are only pulling about 4-4.5 Watts per port. So hitting the switch limit on your Cisco may be a red herring. Sorry if it is.

Sorry if you've covered this... Do all the APs go into the same Cisco SG300 switch? Although the SG300 can deliver 15.4 watts to ports, the switch only has 62 watts of power overall. If the APs are pulling the full load, that switch could only power four at most - this could be why AP number six is struggling? Does the management console / CLI give an indication of PoE utilisation? If the switches are hitting their limits the PSU might sort your issue or at least confirm the problem. If the APs are spread between two switches, I'm guessing its most likely a run of cable that is not quite up to spec.

The injectors can go at any point. It's usually most convenient to keep them in the cabinet because there are sockets there, and they're less likely to be switched off. We've a box full of Ruckus power supplies if you want one posting? They were bundled with the APs when we bought ours. Not the case any more. Best of luck.

We've got three things set to ensure our HSLG works... Persistent routes set upon our sims server to ensure any OpenVPN communications pass though the correct network. Proxy bypass rule setup for two addresses and ports opened on the LEA firewall. Have you got all three?

Might not be linked, but we found an issue with some samsung firmware and gigabit switches. Sending data would crash the NIC. Ended up forcing 100mbit on the switch port then flashed the firmware to the latest version. Might be sending you on a wild goose chase...

I've successfully virtualised a 2003 server using xenconvert. It worked perfectly. You don't need to create a new machine on the xenserver, the xenconvert creates it for you. It was a really painless experience, only needing to assign IPs to the new nics detected by the VM OS. I haven't tried it with w2008 though.

I've not seen that error, but do you need to go through the proxy? Many RBCs allow you to bypass, or offer their own WSUS server to sync to.

Has anyone seen Copy? It's a new online storage solution from Barracuda Networks. It's much the same as Dropbox, but offers 15GBs free to start with. They push the fact that storage isn't shared, it's individual. Their ToS, privacy and DMCA policies look pretty standard for the area. Hi Dave. Leeds Learning (through Capita) offer exchange email through owa or outlook (MAPI & ActiveSync - Happy to be corrected on this). They do not offer pop or imap services I'm afraid. Perhaps I'll ring Luke and confirm tomorrow.
