  1. I don't want to put a downer on it but they need to be a disposable price because we bought some of these and some were broken on the first day of use.
  2. We use these A069 - -- - MONO EARPHONE | CPC Cheap as chips, hygienic and pretty robust. The leads go eventually, especially when chewed.
  3. One of our clients with static addressing loses the gateway address when turned off. When I can get onto it for 10 minutes I plan to reinstall the NIC. Anything else that might be causing the problem? I'll try a virus/malware scan if the NIC reinstall doesn't work.

  5. Lisbeth Salander might have copies.
  6. One of the topics was the the standard of maths education and Gove's proposed exam changes. On Any Answers a guy phoned in who obviously a teacher. "What experience do you have?" asked the presenter Anita Anand. "12 years teaching at a Comprehensive, 12 years at a 6th form college and 12 years at a private school" he replied. "So you have 50 years teaching experience then".
  7. We have two NAS boxes located in separate buildings. They are scheduled to do for a full backup over the weekend and incremental during the week. A couple of weeks ago, one of the backups started to fail claiming the backup location didn't exist. I've tried all sorts of changes but it's still the same problem. The strange thing is, if I select "run now" from the backup schedule it works. I figured it must be something to do with the time the schedule runs but can't see what it might be. The backup to the other NAS box is fine.
  8. Same thing happened to me when I was an apprentice in the RAF. I remember getting off the bed and walking towards the table with the tea and biscuits. Came around in a hospital bed! I had measles and the blood-letting aggravated it. Took months to fully recover and I've never given any since.

  15. If you've changed the lnb and the receiver, then it sounds like the cable. Water may have got in somewhere. You could try heating up the connections with a hair dryer to see if that makes any difference.
  16. Parking on the pavement might not be legal?
  17. When the LEA installed our new 2012 server they set up two NAS boxes which I located in separate buildings. They set up a backup schedule using Macrium Reflect so on week 1 it did a full backup to NAS1 on Friday and then incrementals on Mon, Tue, Wed, Thur, to the same NAS box. Week 2 it did the same to NAS2. I wan't 100% happy with this as a failure on one box could mean having to go back a whole week, so I changed it so that it did the same routine as above but to both NAS boxes. For some reason, the incremental backups to one of the NAS boxes is failing. I can't see why but I created a new backup definition and that's fine. So I intend to redo all of the schedules. Before I do that, can anyone suggest a better routine?
  18. Have you looked here Tredz reviews | Customer reviews of Tredz Seems like slow delivery is a feature of their service. I would imagine that they keep no stock at all, so your are in the hands of their supplier! If you really want the bike, then you can only wait. If not, cancel the order.
  19. George W Bush was really concerned when he learnt that two Brazilian soldiers had been killed in Iraq.
  20. I'm not the SIMS Manager (nor do I want to be) but I usually end up doing the techie stuff. I was showing a supply teacher how to get into Attendance and he said that at his last school the class attendance list had the facility to give merits, make comments etc., for each pupil. Is this something that needs setting up?
  21. I know this has been asked before but I can't find the thread and things may have changed. Our music dept's looking for a software that will allow Y5/6/7 pupils compose music by putting different combinations of loops onto a timeline. I'm sure there's loads of stuff out there but if anyone can recommend something that is working well in their school please.

  25. This is still causing a bit of a problem because the firewall service is not starting automatically. Research tells me that it is probably because there is a third party firewall installed but I'm sure that's not the case. Has anyone any ideas?
