Hi All, Putting some feelers out as I've been burned by Ubiquiti - Long story short we trialed 30 G3 domes and that were fine, so we upgraded with another 60 G4 domes, without realising these didn't do standalone mode (and actually disabled standalone mode on the G3's with a firmware update) So we bought x2 Pro NVR's and they are terrible, they keep crashing/falling over/stopping services etc. Anyway, I'm throwing the whole lot out unless A) I can get the G4 domes working with Synology Surveilance Station (no luck so far) B) I can RMA the entire lot (not looking likely) C) Someone with a Unifi setup that works wants 60 G4 Dome cameras for cheap (I'll even throw in the NVR PROS) I'm posting this elsewhere too, as hopefully an Edugeek has some ideas of help to get out out of this mess. Long story short, for sale, x60 G4 Dome cameras (maybe) happy to swap for G3 cameras as these do RTSP

Hey All, We upgraded from Unifi video to Unifi Protect, bought two new NVR Pro units and now a month later they have fallen over. Tried a factory reset and restoring the backup but they just freeze again; Has anyone had the same with Unifi Protect? They log in fine, ping and behave well, but the Protect app randomly says 'setup' not the version No. and when clicked on it freezes and kicks you back to the main menu. I've contact Ubiquiti but they are not much help, and I'm genuinely wondering if it's worth buying a Synology box to replace the NVR's

Hi All, Silly question really, but MS licencing and wording is always fun to decode - Especially VLSC and WSUS I assume Office LTSC Professional Plus 2021 is the 'same' as Office Professional Plus 2019 - Why have they added the Long term Service Channel? EDIT: Also what really is the difference between 365 and 2021?

Yes, but just the one VH and 3 VM's, physical resources are roughly a quarter for each machine (1/4 RAM 1/4 Processors)

Well, the host runs fine, RDP and slick - It also hosts two other machines that are running fine... I'm looking at Numa modes but tbh I'm not sure if changing these will do anything (?)

It's a bespoke build on a S2600GZ Mobo - I don't think ILO is plugged in, not heard of IDRAC Also rebooted less than 24hrs ago and ran an sfc /scannow and it's still at 56%!

Hi All, A Hyper-V server has suddenly decided to run like treacle, and refuse RDP connections Though wierdly the background processes run fine, as well as the host so It just seems to be a GUI issue (?) I've done my digging and the only diffrences I can find with this machine is some missing IPV6 settings compared to others: these are missing on the server Memory is set at 35000 MB, plenty of HDD space, same network adaptor as the others - NUMA spanning is ON Do I need to follow Jeremy Clarksons advice and just give it more POWER

Hi All, I recently built a new Hyper-V server, but got warning about certificates that expired in 2017(?) Checked the usual suspects but no joy, apparantly it has something to do with replication? It's opening on ports 49259, 49260 and 3071 Wierdly I can browse to them on a browser, but usually get a 'connection refused' error Anyone experienced the same or similar?

To be honest the only thing worth anything there is the demo disc (ironically) and maybe the promo copy of King Kong but the rest is real shovelware

Agreed, the retro market is an odd one, I've found the bottom has definitely fallen out the market - Buyers want to pay peanuts, but collectors will hold onto bits for ridiculous prices. Generally - * Split the manufacturers/systems - Sega, Nintendo, Atari etc. * Identify steelbooks, special editions and basic plastic * Identify missing parts, IE instruction manuals etc - Generally cardboard sleeve games are more sought after than plastic as they are less likely to be in good condition * Beware stickers/residue and sunlight/UV damage, you can tell by yellowing of the plastic * Check regions carefully, not eveything is PAL * Check models carefully, I realised recently there was a second WII model between the launch and mini that had removed Gamecube compatability * Look for brands still going today that are for older systems - Megaman, Castlevania etc. * Check battery backups in some cartridges still work as this makes them more sought after (pokemon, sonic 3, Mario all-stars etc.)

Hi DalekSec, First up really sorry for your loss - If you have any pictures I'd be happy to take a look and see if I can help seperate the wheat from the chaff (also looking for myself tbh! as my collection is 90% complete I'm only looking for oddities and gaps) I think your best bet is to seperate bits out, find the key gems and then the more common items and consoles etc. can be bundled. Just my thoughts. Edit: Also remember charity shops will now setup ebay autions online, though they will take a large share of the money it might be nice depending on the charity you want to give to?

Ok, so I've opened a can of worms here - I inherited this network and the previous NM has AD CA installed and somewhat configured, but it hasn't been working since he left - The three top are the DC (still certificated) [ATTACH=CONFIG]63131[/ATTACH] But everything else is a PC we had on Windows 7 so way old [ATTACH=CONFIG]63132[/ATTACH] [ATTACH=CONFIG]63133[/ATTACH] I assume I'm ok to delete\revoke these old certificates - Especially the one that has a service we no longer use on it!

Hi All, We recently had a security sweep done and an issue highlighted was our lack of HTTPS for internal sites, things like papercut, unifi etc. I never really thought it was an issue as it was all internal and only someone 'sniffing' internally would find something, but to be honest it's an area I have little knowledge in so I'm interested in encrypting as much as possible - The problem is most companies and even paid support we have are reluctant to talk through the steps required to secure the internals with HTTPS. I have been doing my usual research and have found you can create an internal CA on AD then push out the certificate to all your machines via GPO, but this doesn't cover the linux machines etc. With things like Unifi they want a certificate for every device! Anyone else made a jump to HTTPS internally? or are you happy with HTTP and mark it as 'acceptable risk' Regards,

Hi All, We have an odd issue since moving to 21H1, our redirected desktop icons will vanish when users come back to their PC's - They come back of course, and after a tap of 'F5' but this is not really a solution. We have tried to set some GPO's to prevent the network cards going to sleep, but with no joy. Anyone experiencing this or a similar issue? Regards,

Hi All, Not sure if this is the right place, but we have an odd issue with NSN; It crashed after a server restart and kept complaining the server wasn't on (when it was the server itself) so I manually started it using the C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\NSL\Connectivity Server method, Only now it only ever sees 10 clients at a time, not the full list? Not sure why this has decided to happen so wondered if anyone had any thoughts

Hi all, I need to remove the 'Shared with Everyone' folder from O365 and found an old Technet script that claims to do it; https://sharepoint.stackexchange.com/questions/129299/hide-shared-with-everyone-folder-in-onedrive-office365 While it seems legit, I don't want to run it without knowing if it will ask for parameters etc. as I don't want everything deleted, just 'shared with everyone' Though if anyone else has an idea on this suggestions welcome.
