I would honestly open a ticket with Locker, I've always found them really helpful and quick - [email protected]

Hi All, Fun with Teams - as everyone has moved up a year we re-created all our new classes, easy - I even had a nice guide to copy any assignments to a new team to save time https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/repost-an-assignment-in-microsoft-teams-f1c81ec0-ac61-49e5-b551-8d6a792f0d7b Oh but there's an issue - See it doesn't give the option to copy across the work too; so users continuing projects from last year have to use the archived team, not the new team What's best practice in this situation? I even thought moving the files via sharepoint was an acceptable answer, but this gives all students access to others work which is cheating! One of these days I will retire.

Hi All, Odd issue here with 1 or 2 Intune devices, they apparantly refuse to connect to 'public' or 'unsecure' WiFi - We haven't set this up and a quick search reveals nothing much about this 'default' policy; Has anyone else got or heard of this?
-
WUFB works with Group Policy, so no need for Azure - you should just be able to update the ADMX files and you'll get the latest policies (depending on DC OS)
-
You should be able to do this with WUFB: http://www.edugeek.net/forums/windows-server-2019/225621-has-anyone-ditched-wsus.html

9 Years ago this video was made by a legend, and 9 years later it's pretty much the same. SIMS is dead, long live SIMS!
-
It's pretty customisable to be fair (via GPO that is) but not sure about the cache server - I was worried about it strangling our bandwidth too, but I've noticed no difference since ditching WSUS, in fact It's arguably better.

Hi All, Reviving this thread as we now have an additional 70 (maybe a couple more) going over the Summer Term. Once again, collection required, however to complicate matters SLT might want to use the screens for another project, so these might come without screens (unconfirmed as of yet) -
Hi All, thanks for the replies - we've now moved to Bromcom (hooray) But still can't install NOVA satellite as it seems to want SIMS I'm going to take a look after the bank holiday (of course the staff member isn't here) but anyone else had this?
-
that did it - Thanks

Panic over, reloaded them and there they are Of course, this still doesn't answer the question, and why does it say depreciated when that's not selected (?)

Necroing an old thread (gotta save that environment) As WUFB has been working fine for a few months, but now I'm getting some odd errors - First off it works and installs everything, but now it can see 21H2 it keeps trying to install, and failing with 0x80246019 I wondered if it was my GPO settings, but then if I have them hidden it should show the yellow '!' not the red 'X' right? Also some of my GPO settings are not there - I did push out 21H1 for W11 yesterday, but where have they gone all of a sudden?

'Extend' Login Screen black on secondary monitor
Warwick_Tech replied to Warwick_Tech's topic in Windows 10
I have that set for the theme, but it's tempramental in it's application - Is this an old GPO setting somewhere? -
Hi All, It's one of those 'difficult to google' questions - When in 'extend' the login screen (on startup and 'lock') only shows on 1 monitor, of course this leads to confusion as it makes sense to have it on all monitors, regardless of 'main display' I don't think there's a way around this, but thought I'd ask anyway in case someone has a solution. Edit: We force a background, but the other side is always black

Thanks for the replies all - No prize I'm afraid as I have no idea either! but if you want to see where it came from.... It's the only part TFL left behind

Hi All, Happy Star Trek day, Nanu Nanu and all that... I've decided to put my thoughts onto paper about InTune policies with the hope we can get a good 'vanilla' thread going. I've decided to approach InTune from a fresh slate, so as to make it easier. So far I have; * Blocked the ability for anyone except O365 admins to join AzureAD * Created a USB stick with a default profile using the 'setup schools PC app' -This will join a factory device to Intune/azure and allow basic login * Setup two groups, Staff Intune Devices and Student Intune Devices for policy creation. All Devices - * Bitlocker as standard * Branding * MAK key for W10/11 * Windows Update policies (may need clarification on this one) *GMT time zone (this was a weird one) Extra Student Restrictions - * No access to settings or control panel * No access to C: drive or local storage I've also got a few apps that try to deploy but seem to fail. Has anyone else gone this route? Is there some basics I'm missing - I'm trying to keep this as simple as possible RE depoyment and maintenance.

Not that it's any help, but we have the same problem with several nodes on a VM - after a restart they are like treacle, but a few days later they perform as expected - We figured it was a dodgy RAM stick and I'm replacing the host soon anyway - I'll let you know if that helps

Hi All, We would like to continue using NovaT6 even if we have no SIMs contract, I know they are technically seperate programs and Nova was third party but things have gotten somewhat muddled over the years and now getting this info seems to be difficult - Does anyone know anything solid around the idea of continuing to use Nova satellite even if SIMs is no longer supported officially?

What would I do with the kit? I would finally start my youtube career as a professional streamer, streaming mostly Cities Skylines and a huge retro catalouge. You need a monster rig to even open CS on a professional level.... and even then you still get frame drops! -
In my experience, cyan is 10GB (OM4) Orange is 1GB (OM3) and yellow is 10/100 or single mode fibre Your mileage may vary

Ok, first batch (60-70) is being pencilled for disposal Mon 11th April for that two week window (Though removal will start on the Monday) In order to be fair, I am posting this here to everyone as a first come, first served basis - The same entity may not be able to take the second batch. -
New Servers (hooray) Hyper-V Configuration

This makes sense - also watching some video bits which helped And a long and boring Microsft Docs https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/storage/storage-spaces/storage-spaces-direct-overview My other worry was complete disaster recovery, but It does happily state it can all be restored via Windows Server Backup (Other options are avaliable)
