Hi,. We have RM tutor4 licences for the school, and as such all CC4 machines are running with the Netsupport student module enabled. In most IT rooms we have a 'teacher' machine which has the tutor control software on it. As our teachers move around PC's, with their profiles, Tutpr gets confused where they are and doesn't offer the correct machines for that room when a teacher logs on. my NM mentioned that it was possible on CC3 to 'fix' tutor so that a machine would bring up the same machines regardless of who was logged on, but alas he doesn't remember how this was done. can anyone point me in the right direction...? What is the default gateway of the SIMS server and the machine/area you are connecting from? Also, are you using WAN as Wireless or, Wide Area Network (as in 2 sites via ADSL etc)[Not trying to be an ass, just wondering... ]

I have an Quantum (i think) LTO Backup device complete with SCSI Card, 3 IBM x226 rack-able servers (1 with some 72GB drives, 1 with some 36GB's, and unknown ram, other has no drives atm), and a Dell Poweredge 440, 4gb ram with SATA drives... plus a few other bits and pieces... let me know if you are interested in any on here, and I'll dig out more details...

I've always been told, and follow that users should never have full control on their own folders, if only to prevent new files/folders being created which the Administrator is not the owner of.... so from my knowledge, everything is fine in your setup... (let me know if you get issues)

Have you checked another output device over the same cabling?

MelodicBrush, I'm with Laser and James... I'd start looking for anything you can get rather than looking for IT sector jobs. Unfortunately, the market is saturated with job seekers, so companies can pick and choose the 'right' person. you'll need to get your exams done at least, imho, and you may want to look at doing some volunteer work to get some experience under your belt... get some smart clothes on, and talk a walk up to the local Primary or Secondary school, and offer yourself to do a few hours a week... you might find you end up with a job at the end, or at least your expenses paid! the other option is to make a post on here offering your services out, I dare say someone could use a pair of hands on here, that are in your area! With regard to your CV, Write one, PM me and I'll give you an email address to send it to, I'll look at it, and provide my thoughts, but bear in mind, I'm not an expert!

Unfortunatley, this shows that they are all no better than each other... Cameron wasn't in power when we won the bid way back when... Hey all.... not sure if something has been posted before, but what tools have you made or macgyvered to fix a problem? We've just used a piece of cat5 copper to short out the pwd terminals on an Acer... cos the NM forgot what pwd he used for the bios, LOL... I've also found an unbent paper clip to be very handy at releasing CD/DVD Drives...

Is it server info such as drivespace, RAM use etc you are after? We are using something called Spotlight for windows here, which displays loads of info in real time...
