Doesn't really need a guide very simple to setup.. Just setup the gateway on one server and session hosts on the other, we have 4 servers 6gb ram each.. they do our thin pcs too.. IT: How to Set Up Your Own Terminal Server Using Remote Desktop Services On Server 2008 R2 - should help you for 2008 r2, and then basically for 2012r2 its virtually the same but easier! Good Luck

Right i have had enough of flash player! We deploy it through GPO (although would love to get rid of it.. but educational software doesn't allow us too! ).. We have Windows 7, IE11 and the latest version on flash player (activeX) - 21.0.0.213, installed on our workstations, every so often a computer at random decides that it is going to remove the speaker button from youtube (see image below) When it does this, you get no sound just video.. cannot find a way of resolving it, we have just been reimaging the machines, today all of the computers have no sound on youtube. (this is a big deal to teachers). I think its trying to play it using HTML5 but can't force it to use flash.. have checked online and it says we have the latest version installed and that it is working, We did push out the latest the other day last week but it did install on them machines and we haven't had any issues until today.. What could be the cause and how do we resolve it? i will now find a rocking chair to rock back and forth in....

Hi all, We have our staff laptops off the domain and want to look at changing our admin account password, last time we did this we recalled the laptops to do so, don't want to go through that again! Is there a way to change the passwords of these laptops remotely? Thought of doing a script (we already have a scipt that runs at login) but the password would then be saved in plain text... anyone have any ideas? Don't want to join them to the domain as we are looking at getting rid of staff laptops over the next year / two

Shell.exe / logging off RDS
bwestlake replied to CapnPugwash's topic in Thin Client and Virtual Machines
We have done something simular, we are using local gpo to use a custom shell (a vbs script which calls a bat which calls a mstsc file, then logs user off when mstsc closes) -

Hi all, We have recently upgraded our staff and student servers from Server 2008 to Server 2012 R2 For each user we used to have their HomeDrives as follows Staff: \\staff\Data\%username% Students: \\students\data\%intake%\%username% and we have now changed it to be Staff: \\staff\%school%\%username% Students: \\students\%intake%\%username% After we had done this a couple of days late a couple members of staff whom have been in in the summer started noticing that there work wasn't saved... Turns out looking on the machine that they had been using, in their local profile there was the Documents, Desktop, Music, Videos, Pictures and Favourites folders... (they never used to be local) Having a look, when they go to save for example on word it is defaultly on the Libraries - Documents But if i go to their HomeDrive it does look like the folders are redirected if you go through the Libraries one it does save to the local machine... checked Group Policy and everything is as it was before and should still work Have looked at removing libraries from the pc but they will not disappear. Has anyone got any ideas? We have ran out of anymor help please! Many Thanks

Afternoon, Looking for some advice, Got no money to spend on this but have some machines that we want to basicly use as thin clients Am able to setup RDS installed Windows thin pc on one of these machines and configured it to auto login and open up the configured rdp file However don't like that it still has the previous username and also you have the ability to save credentials. Has anyone managed to remove them options and also looking for some advice on what you guys have done / used?? Many thanks

Anyone got a car dashboard camera? Considering buying one.
bwestlake replied to adhutton's topic in General Chat
not sure if I'm allowed to do this, but have read loads of good reviews on the BlackVue cameras, more people sign up the cheaper it gets! https://www.massdrop.com/buy/blackvue-dr650gw-2ch-car-dash-camera -
