In the DHCP Scope Options, the DNS Domain Name and DNS server (static internal ip) is the same. I did resolve it to the domain name in case that would make any difference. It currently look like. DNS Servers 10.1.1.2 (the local dns) 8.8.8.8 8.8.4.4

We updated our DNS and now some clients are connecting to it and resolving to AD, however many are not. I can manually remove the client from the domain and re-join and all works fine, however I'm hoping there is a better way of doing this to the clients that will be coming back on campus next week. I have tried ipconfig /flushdns ipconfig /registerdns When I ping or do a nslookup by server it will fail to resolve. Pinging by ip works fine. So the device acts like it no longer has privileges. Aside from manually touching each device, any suggestions how to solve this problem?

10.1.x.x connects to the AD/DC 10.2.x.x does not. These are all public devices I have no 'control' over.

How can I assign different DNS servers to different IP ranges? Can this be done from DHCP or DNS on Win2019? For example Client Range - 10.1.x.x DNS - 8.8.8.8 Client Range - 10.2.x.x DNS - 52.9.127.2 I have a mix of devices on the 10.1.x.x that would stop me to use Group Policy to add DNS on certain devices.

Never would I have thought it was "File and Print Sharing" from windows 98 that I would be using again. Quick How-to from Group Policy with Server 2019 to a Win 10 client. GPO > Computer Config > Policies > Windows Settings > Security Settings > Windows Defender Firewall with Advanced Security > Inbound Rule , New Rule, Predefined Rule, File and Print Sharing. It add about 9 rules. Open Command Line and run gpupdate /force and then you're golden.

I used to be able to \\10.x.x.x\c$ then add my admin credentials and plop something on the clients desktop from my office. I now have a bunch of windows 10 machines and I cant do that anymore. What GP rule on the AD server can I make to allow me to do that?

I am having an issue where previously connected machines can not connect to our RDS broker server. A computer that has never connected before can connect. Where would I look for the previously stored connections to remove them? Any ideas?

In server 2012 I could just use Task Manager, select the disconnected users and log them off. In 2019 however, I can only select one user at a time. Can anyone suggest a way to bump groups of users off the Remote desktop connection? ( aside from making a powershell script)

Would you guys know if there a way to make the student connection look like a Student's Windows 10 desktop and not a Windows 2019 server without spending hours tweaking group policies?

I have eight new Windows 2019 servers to provide desktop virtualization for students, upgraded from 2012. My AD/DC is 2012r2 and the group policies that had help me lock down my previous RDS servers no longer work. Is there a GP update i can put on my 2012 server? I'm pressed for time and not sure if I can get the AD/DC upgraded to 2019 in time. Any suggestions

I have a user who is being locked out about every 30min or so. I can see when the teacher is getting locked out in the Event Logs, but I cant find what is attempting to authenticate as her. Any ideas on where I can look to see What/where the login attempts are coming from that would cause the domain controller to log her out?

Is there a way to run domain CMD lines from a machine that is not on the domain? I need to reset student passwords from a machine that is not on the domain and I'm at a loss for getting an authentication promp to add the domain admin creds.

I purchased Office 2016 licenses like normal, receive confirmation from windows that my vendor added licenses, log into the Volume Licensing site and everything Windows 8 and up is missing. All server, office and windows products are missing. Am I missing something, is there another location now instead of this page?

This one is driving me bonkers. I have exchange 2013, zero issues with OWA for years. I get this error from one very vocal lady. "Error: Your request can't be completed right now. Please try again later." Nothing else is displayed, her email address doesn't show and the email will not be flagged as read. I can see her emails fine in Outlook (Office 2010 and up), and I can forward her email from office to myself and then I can see it in OWA. Any ideas?

Basic install of Office Suite 2016 for the teachers. They can't open files from other staff mailed to them, they can't save to their desktop or a network share. After using Word's Trust Center to Trust a location it works lovely. But doing this for each location on each Office app (Excel , Word, PowerPoint and Outlook) for each user manually feels pretty stupid, so I'm guessing there must be a better solution to this. The only GPO solution I saw was to also add each trusted location for the user for each App again and that looks super sloppy and cumbersome. Anyhow, if anyone knows of a more elegant way of solving this Office 2016 Trust Center problem please share it. Thanks guys. Our teachers are moving to Google Classroom and we have teachers and staff logging into google with our domain. Our MX records do still point to my Exchange server but at some point I would like to migrate all of us over to Google. Do I just point my MX records over and somehow it magically works? I feel like I'm missing a lot of info here and I'm not sure where to find it. Have any of you done this, what steps am I missing? Thanks in advance! Jesse
