Never mind, I've fixed it... In Remote Access Management , in Infrastructures servers, next through to DNS, then add DomainB.local, detect and then validate, Add and then next. Then add DomainB.local to the domain suffixes to use, then next and then finish. Finish the config to update the GPO and then reboot the client. It took 2 reboots over a non corporate network to pick the new config.

You don't. It just makes sure it receives a full gpo sync and fully evaluates it before it moves on. The other setting that might help is the setting to fully evaluate even if policy hasn't changed.

Ok, here goes. We have a Direct Access implementation om DomainA.local. Yes, I know Direct Access is deprecated, but I need to use it for another year and then I can go always on VPN. DomainA is in a working 2 way trust with DomainB. DomainA is a 192 domain DomainB is a 10. domain with a L3 switch doing the routing. Whilst on the corporate network Direct Access clients are able to see and access hosts from both DomainA and DomainB. If the direct access client is remote, they are not able to access DomainB. I assume this is a 6 to 4 translation issue? The DNS servers for Domain A have conditional forwarders to Domain B and vice versa. Does anyone know of a quick and dirty way to get around this? It's only going to be an issue for a few weeks until we migrate all the data off DomainB onto DomainA.

Anything that is just IT is managed by the helpdesk ticketing system. Anything where I have to fit in with the wider world is dealt with by the BMs master Gantt chart, which I think this year is an excel sheet. Last year it was a drywipe board in the staffroom.

I'm out... Turning off faststart did the trick for us. Sorry! As a side note, I skipped 1709 as a deployment because I found it broke/had weird behaviour with redirected start menus. You might do better trying 1803 which I have found the be the most stable of the lot so far.

All of our PCs still do - it's a spec requirement, but none of our laptops do. I have 10 bookable external DVD writers. We have several resources that run from DVD and one resource that runs from DVD, the DVD gets removed, and then saves it's reports to CDRW in a proprietary format that can only be read back in by that software!

I'm not seeing anything weird using VLC... I'd have a major issue on my hands if it did as we have a *lot* of video resources on disc still!

Have you enabled F8, and checked out the smsts.log in X:\Windows\Temp\SMSTS\SMSTS.log I had to do it yesterday - turned out the machine had a bad bios battery and had wrong time/date info.
