  2. I suppose you could script something to run at midnight on the day in question and just raise the 'user must change password at next logon' flag?
  3. a few of my colleagues have also had similar calls, one other from the same number, one of them twice! They ask for a different amount each time. We've had a range from 5k to my 250k.
  4. Terrible Robocall today... "This. Is. Revenue... And. Customs. You owe... TwoHundred... And... FiftyThousand... Pounds. To avoid being arrested at... Six... Thirty... Tonight... At... YourHomeAddress. Please. Press. 1... Now." Click... And... Block.
  5. We have about 90 Chromebooks on this partcular site, all managed nicely with the Education Upgrade... We have a homepage set that is our intranet landing page, and this pops up every time, however we occasionally also see an additional blank google search page open on browser start, which throws the younger kids through a loop because: "Missssssss, my page doesn't look like that..." Any ideas why the extra appears? Any ideas how to stop it? It doesn't happen all the time, and it doesn't happen on any kind of discernible pattern. EDIT to also say that the 'new tab page' is also set to the intranet location and this doesn't stop the random standard google search page appearing.
  6. We've been blocking the oldest ipads from the internet on the filtering, but allowing the kids to use them as cameras. Everything else that is EOL just goes in the bin, because the time we judge it to be EOL it's actual scrap!
  7. If you use a ticketing system, see if there is a knowledgebase extension so you can convert tickets to KB articles quickly as a searchable record of how you did it last time?
  8. For those of you in Dorset/BCP you can explore more in depth imagery at https://explorer.geowessex.com turning on 'aerial photography indexes' layer.
  9. Got any documentation on that process to hand?
  10. I've got to a point where I need my SCCM to do things it's current version doesn't do... Can anyone with a bigger brain than me tell me what my upgrade path is because I think I'm running a version so old all the documentation has gone! The server is Windows Server 2016, but the SQL is 2008R2 and the running SCCM version is 5.00.8239.1000 What's my upgrade path? I *really* don't want to have to just bin it and start again because it took me months to get WSUS and SCCM Endpoint Protection to work the way I wanted!
  11. Something like this? https://www.easy365manager.com/office-365-dynamic-groups/#:~:text=Dynamic%20groups%20are%20groups%20that,Premium%20P1%20or%20P2%20subscription.
  12. I got one, I haven't been to BETT *ever*!
  13. You needs yourself this... https://www.netwrix.com/account_lockout_examiner.html
  14. I have some gen4 Elitebooks that were doing that - removing the batteries, pressing the power, then putting it all back together again has cleared the fault. Worth making sure you're all up to date with firmware etc.
  15. I've sacked off everything IRIS. Got fed up with the cludgey solutions. They called me to tell me my products had expired, I told them we would not be renewing either of the IRIS products we had based on feedback from the staff using it, and they proceeded to call my boss at the school and at the trust and told them I was rude and agressive. Fortunately they called via the school system and we were ale to review the call and vindicate me as being to-the-point but perfectly polite. We aren't renewing.
  16. Current thinking here is that one school will remain predominantly Microsoft. The other are expecting to go ChromeOS for everything except admin staff who will use retain windows PCs (for Excel and finance systems) with but storage in Google file stream. Currently evaluating using Smart as a published app in RDP while people convert resources into Jamboard.
  17. Ours are direct with Canon and request at 15% for black and 5% for colour. We've repeatedly been refused buffer stock. If we put an 'empty' back in it just sits at empty and it doesn't order anything - probably because it's not got a chip in it to do so.
  18. We use Parago e-sign.
  19. I'm happier with the new hardware requirement than I am with ads.
  20. I'm pretty sure it's nothing nefarious because these are infant school staff machines that nobody except other members of staff should have physical access to.
  21. It's so weird. This has happened to one PC I use frequently for the last 3 months... Yesterday it was fine. Today I've been to 5 people who can't login without the 3 finger salute.
  22. I have very little constructive to add to this other than 'me too'. Clicking the lock screen doesn't present the login screen, flicking the lock screen up doesn't present the login screen. Pressing CTRL+ALT+DEL work instantly.
  23. I'd be tempted to go MDT as a temporary measure but to plan for intune in the very near future as it seems to be the system most people are moving to.
  24. OS Ticket here. Little bit tricksy to set up in the first place but super simple in use.
