  1. We have been with a Capita direct support for quite some time, but as of the 1st April we will be with a third party as it is going to cost the MAT less per year than our current support contract. We have called their regional support office many, many times over the last 15 years with questions ranging from "report X doesn't seem to want to work" (which was a group membership issue) through to help we bricked the server!
  2. We set value for HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\Common\UserInfo\UserInitials and HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\Common\UserInfo\Username for Office via GPP registry settings, with the %username% set in each. Works in both windows 7 and windows 10. Initial is just the first letter of the username which is fine for us
  3. If you want to stop it auto forwarding outside your domain In the Exchange Admin Center, go to Mail flow -> rules Create a new rule where the Sender is located inside the organization and the recipient is located outside the organisation and the message type is Auto-Forward. Reject the message with an explanation "Sorry your not permitted to forward to an external domain"
  4. When I rolled out the separate GAL's and then updated them, I had to reset all the students back to the default GAL and back to the custom one the following day. The OAB only generally updates overnight in Office 365.
  5. Flash 2004 hated Windows 7 so much that if you just looked at moving a menu window it would crash for us (and that was with the compatibility update installed) We have to run it all in a XP VM to keep the applications stable, but there is no way we're porting them over to Windows 10
  6. I noticed the same message on our 365 Message Centre but slightly confused as the user account it's currently using is just a bog standard domain user without any bells or whistles. Going to try and read the MS wall of text over a cup of tea
  7. Only on low. We switch it to high when they have been playing with their deodorant sprays
  8. If you turn off the air exchangers you will find the room gets warmer a bit quicker as the AC is always having to heat the cooler air that has come in. I normally have the exchangers set to low speed so the AC doesn't have to work quite so hard
  9. The vents are normally to aid with either exchanging the air, or having it recirculate in the room. Our AC acts as the heating & cooling for the room (if the kids don't keep moving it from automatic) Or at least that's how the AC installers explained it may a year ago.
  10. For Christmas I'm going to change his name to Alec.
  11. I was not suggesting adaptors, but the actual moulded leads to take the Display Port output from PC to VGA or DVI depending what your monitor had. (as a lead is much cheaper than replacing graphics cards or monitors) If you already have VGA outputs available on PC and your monitors support it, then that is a viable option and disable all other sound devices on the PC apart from the HDMI that goes straight to the board. The Splitter could be causing the issue for the sound to redirected to the monitor instead of the board so removing it from the equation where you already have an alternative display connection is something to investigate before having to spend money.
  12. If your computers have a display port connector, you can get display port to HDMI/DVI/VGA leads so that your current monitors can still be used and the HDMI goes straight to the board as a clone of the primary display (Monitor)
  13. We still have a v5 Mac that talks happily to our v6 Impero server, so you can update the server install then send the new MSI to clients via your preferred method. It was actually recommended to disable the automatic update within Impero Server to prevent any connectivity issues in your classrooms due to unexpected installs. We normally schedule the Server update for near the end of the day then use WPKG (or soon SCCM) to sent the client MSI out the following morning when the stations wake up. Oh just make sure you have .Net Framework 4.6 or 4.7 installed on your clients before you put the Impero v6 client on otherwise it won't be able to talk to the server.
  14. But much less of an issue compared to a physical key since if your ID is lost you can easily disable the card from opening a door.
  15. That was another company that used a similar name (as well as others over the years)
  16. If I could get a larger capacity but same spindle speed, it's ok. Not ideal, but ok
  17. OVS also includes all your Network CAL licences in addition to the OS Upgrade rights from a valid version up to the latest release from MS. If you do not have any Client Access Licences (CAL's) via another means, then technically your not licenced to have the computers accessing a Windows File Server. Not to mention the licences for other services that are part of the desktop pack.
  18. If your SSL was not signed by a trusted root authority, it will throw up the warning on the BYoD devices regardless of what browser you are using. Some will show the "are you sure you trust this connection" straight away or you have to click the advanced option on screen to get to that step.
  19. We've used them a fair bit in the past. Just depends what we're looking for and what their price is
  20. Well Solus just copies the files over so they are right in that it shouldn't have an issue with the update. TBH I didn't think simsinst was offered for installation these days.
  21. No it's just a rerun of the series. There is no plans to remake B5 in any fashion
  22. Not the One
  23. @AJWhite1970 Strangely enough I like some Gold Rush too (even bought the game!!)
  24. Errm, I can log in to HAP using my e-mail address without any problems. Our UPN Suffix is our e-mail domain name (ie school.county.sch.uk), and our e-mail address always uses the Users Logon name and our UPN Suffix.
  25. I believe he said 8 VM hosts not 8 VM's themselves.
