  1. Holy Necro @mavhc
  2. ATOL pays. However not all hotels seem to understand this hence the demands for tourist to pay (which they should not).
  3. We have all ours set in AD to be the drive letter we're planning on using, and group policy uses it when they logon (so we don't need to use net use etc, but then again we use GPP to map the drives and to rename the home drive to something nicer than \\server\student$\yr32\blah\documents)
  4. Are your users being synchronised from Active Directory, or are they just cloud accounts? As far as I am aware, none of our synchronised accounts have been asked for additional recovery options.
  5. We renewed our ZD3050 support for a further 3 years until the hardware is EoL, as we have some access points that are not supported on the newer SmartZone. I'd say to start looking at upgrading when capacity is starting to get hit, or there has been a major shift to faster standards (such as the move from g to n)
  6. On ours, we have the USB cable going from PC directly up to the bottom USB Input on the top panel on the board. The 2 USB amplifier/Aux cables are then plugged into the inner edge of the board just like the image. Same with the power cable to connect up the amplifier for the built in speakers.
  7. Invoice is in the post
  8. @ICTDirect_Dave, those prices look great, but I think you need to review it as your not supplying Thinkpads, but Latitudes
  9. We charge £50 for the first hour, then £35 for the next 3 subsequent hours before it goes up to £75 an hour
  10. Ah, I thought you were enquiring for your users benefit at home not your parents. Alas you might be limited then to paying a normal price for that copy then.
  11. Everything on Office 365 is held at the MS datacentre, so will stay in the tenancy. Depending on how they set it up, they could just update the contact details to your school (if it's not already set like that), remove any additional admin account they created, either elevate one of your accounts as global admin (if you don't have that rights already) and then reset/send you the master admin account details. The domain name hosting itself I assume you already have resolved as part of the transfer.
  12. We do between 600-700 cards every year as we mainly use it for bus passes
  13. Ours is still working about 12 years since purchase... had to bodge the install for windows 10 as it doesn't have drivers as it went EoL about 5 years ago....
  14. Likewise, on first install it will complain and bomb out if you don't allow users to write to the shared desktop, but clicking the link again and it's loads happily until the user profile is deleted from the station
  15. So are you not going to be running Office in school at all? If you are, and you have an OVS-EES agreement, then you can still use Office 365 (without e-mail) just to allow your users to download Office for use at home. If you are going purely to G-Suite, then using Google Doc is an alternative
  16. We just login as an admin to install the E-Banking exe file, and our SageE-Banking MSI for our commercial bank. So far the finance team have had no issues. Sage itself is stored in their local appdata, so when they have been off for a week and the profile has been removed, they have to wait for the installer to run again, but the banking details are still there and fine.
  17. That's because MS are moving everything over to that model but if you have the A1 Plus or ProPlus licences in Office 365, your users can install it at home regardless if it's a personal device or not, just as long as they have a valid school e-mail account with the assigned licence.
  18. Its exactly the same @hardtailstar other than the fact it says Office 365 and not Office 2016/2019 etc. It's the Click to Run installer from your office365 website, but your users can also just enter their school credentials if Office was pre-bundled on a new device as well, as it just activates the applications that are enabled by your licence.
  19. All our staff and students get Office 365 on up to 5 devices for free via our A1 Plus licence until such time as they leave the school (or we revoke their licence), and before that via the ProPlus option for 365 that is free via your OVS-EES reseller Note, Office 365 is a local install, not just web version so it's the same as Office 2019
  20. I believe I found a site via a google search, and then went through it and removed some of the unsuitable words, then dropped them all into a MySQL table
  21. I have a database of 20,000 6 letter words, and when staff need to reset a students password it picks on randomly from the database and sets the "change at first logon" tag as well. For their first password we just use the date of birth
  22. We just update MDT and the Windows 10 base WIM (no editing or stripping down required) each time a new version drops. All our stations are running 1903 without any issue via that method, and we've been doing that since 1703 came out.
  23. If your running a zone director, telling it to re-create a self signed certificate will revert it back to redirecting to it's IP address, but it will nag about the certificate host not being trusted.
  24. tbh when it comes to OpenReach it's always a pain. Technically still waiting after 18 months for a quote to move cables for a refurb.. they have been dangling from the scaffold for the last 5 weeks without any issue. So yea, get them to box in the cabinets with a panel that can be removed if you ever need to gain access. Just remember to mark it's location
  25. Just box them in, it will be fine If it is BT cabling, then it's openReach, but all our internal extensions is done by our telephone support company or myself
