Import the OS as WIM file then re-create the Task sequence or copy the xml files of the task sequence on the old server to the new server overwriting the ones created in the new task sequence folder. If copying the xml file accross once this is done then go bac into the task sequence and point it tio the OS imported from the old server. Then give it a test on a VM or a test PC to make sure deploys all good.

Downfall of RDP is you won't be able to interact with users session. Using TeamViewer or similar would also mean you don't have to muck around with VPNs/ports etc. whilst having the ability to interact with a PC pretty much without user intervention. Of course protect the TeamViewer account as far as possible.

There was a post on here regarding setting user expectations, that would be worth a look. My 2nd job in IT we had no helpdesk logging software. I'd worked in a support role at my first IT job so managed to scrape though using an A4 piece of paper in my first few weeks jus going through jobs which seemed important. Never got winged at but I started on my own for 3-4 weeks in a secondary/6th form, dropped in the frying pan you could say prob like a few of us on here I imagine.

Done a small 5k-ish this morning to test the legs. Still a bit like jelly a few moments early in the run then pace increased once in the second wind.

Completed in 4hrs45mins was aiming for 4hrs30mins , walked ran after 17th mile but had a strong finish through my local town high street :-) . Legs not too bad at the moment, tried to keep moving a bit once got home. Met about 10 others doing the virtual on my route and cheered each other on. First marathon done :-)

Yes the Gen2 plus will shutdown gracefully if the power is lost to the device i.e. PoE cable disconnected or PoE switch rebooted/power issue. It also has a display. If you do go for cloud management (if you really have to) make sure to use MFA on the UI account. Personally I would use a VPN to get access remotely.

My colleague got a place with his Girlfrend this year (8th attempt of trying for him,) I'm glad he got a place and I did not. Breaking up the run with a gel every 6 miles then have a 1.5L hydration pack that with have Electrolyte tablet in and a second collapsible water bottle. Used to doing distance by myself so not really worried about, wearing the bib so may get a few cheers I'm guessing :-)

Yep I have seen people say that from last year, prob what I don't need, lol. I was doing good pace for 20miles (jus under 9min/mile) before had the dreaded C word in April 2020 and that was an undulating route. At the moment the 10min/mile is looking to be a challenge on a very near flat route.

Virtual App released late Tuesday night. It gives option to do a practice 5k to test the app out. Seemed to work OK however when I done the practice 5k the distance was shorter on the app. I'm going to be going the distance by my Garmin watch on the actual day as unlocking the phone and checking the distance is going to be a pain, it does do audio however I've never run with headphones on as like to be fully aware of surroundings when running.

Will be my first, completed a few 20 mile runs in training. Lost a bit of pace since had the covid symptoms in April 2020 so it is going to be a struggle. Got the Hydration pack and gels sorted out. Maybe a wet one by the looks of it :-( but at least not too hot if I start early in the morning. I'm doing the Virtual marathon which can take around my local area, got a route down a canal tow path and maybe finish off in the town and crawl home or get a taxi home to a nice cool beer (or 2) once hydrated. Speaking about the Virtual marathon they have not released the official app yet and cutting it a bit fine.

Same here, we always stay 1-2 firmware back and read the release notes. Never really had an issue with firmware. Strang issue with DHCP and dhcp snopping effecting one specific model (2650) and out of date firmware combination. Rolled out 120 Aruba 2530/2540s 4 years back and have only had issue with one switch, MAC address and DHCP issues on ports 1-24 of a 48 port switch. Replacement switch sent out by HP after a 10-15min tech phone call. 750 Aruba/HP switches on site mostly the older models 2650 and 2810 are flakey but they are very old switches and prob paid for themselves by now. Those switches are still replaced by HP.

We don't use the cloud management for Aruba. We have 3 controllers in HA, the APs are paper weights with out the controllers. It's expensive but we have only had downtime due to admin error in the past 5 years. 2500 APs, remote sites with Remote APs (Aruba RAPs), role based access, dhcp pools, captive portal is a separate product which is again highly available. WiFi is pretty important here. Yes Unifi have had a breach which they did not handle very well but many other orgs have had breaches too. I don't like the UDM Pro need to have online access or a UI account though and I'd jus host in a VM with no internet access what so ever.

I've known data recovery to cost near £1,000 . It was over 12 years back, a software house we used to 3rd party support their customers re-configured the backup to point to local drive for testing on an ePOS system, HDD died, software house picked up bill to get the data recovered. Unless they can pick up the cost to repair I think it will be unfortunately a case of lesson learnt to keep a 2nd copy on USB and/or cloud. It's happened to me many years back before I got into IT, now everything important and photos is on a NAS in RAID with backups going to another NAS on RAID and the cloud. Prob best not get involved as others have said.

The issue with http is it's clear text jus like plain smtp, telnet, most DNS etc. To be honest though I thought that you had to use a legit and registered fqdn for public signed certs i.e. not a .local or .internal , maybe I am wrong about that though, certs are not a strong point of mine???? https://www.globalsign.com/en/blog/certificates-for-internal-servers

What APs are you using? Most of the time the AP needs to be registered in the Radius server as a NAS device, the only times it does not is if you are actually using a wireless system where the controllers are doing all the work (High end Aruba not the InstantOn or standalone Instant APs) and not simply a management tool such as Unifi. Is the config for the AP consistent with the other AP? I'm assuming the network port is setup or is the same network port as the working AP

Used a combination of firstname surname letters and the intake year based on the year they would of started in year 7 of secondary. This was about 10 years back when I worked in a secondary. But it kept it fairly straight forward when it came to AD etc.

What model of switch is this for. Some HP use the old 3com language called comware whilst the older HP switches use a version called ProVision. Slight difference in terminology and syntax.

Are you using redirection at all, i.e. app data and no roaming profiles either? The other thing you could possibly try is deleting the mail profile and re-creating.

If the switch added is jus doing layer 2 i.e. no routing then you could check to see if you can see and MAC addresses of the clients that are not working on the uplinked switches i.e. the core dell switch. Normally we would do that and it would point to a vlan not tagged on an uplink somewhere just work your way though any switches in the chain and make sure the vlan is tagged/trunked properly. I've no experience with the Dells though, commands or GUI. The principal still is the same just start at the bottom i.e. physical and work your way up through the OSI layers. Have dhcp helper addresses been added to the new vlan?

Yes those are Caddies, push the red button on the caddies and will release the handle on the caddie to be able to pull the drives out.
