I did something of this ilk a few years back relating to unproportionate profit on bank charges in relation to actual cost (unfair profiteering). Requested my entire statement history for the last 6 years and highlighted every bank charge they ever levied. In my younger days I was pretty bad with cash and had a lot of these at £30 a time. I sent of a simple letter detailing the law around the situation and received a settlement into my account of almost £2k.... Albeit money I had already paid in one way or other, it was a very useful return. I shall also be looking a the PPI on my credit card and forwarding my concerns to said company.... EDIT: As mentioned above this is a simple process, DO NOT use PPI claims companies they are just greedy. If there was little or nothing in it for them, would they really go to the trouble of calling you at the most inopportune times? DT

All very true, but some people struggle with tying shoelaces, let alone anything that requires a modicum of intelligence to operate....

Not putting the filtering into their hands, but making sure the cr4p they supply is up to the job.... I use windows parental controls, and its great for free - but my kids are young and only really go on a few sites. I guess once they're older and need more access I'll look at something else.... And knowing the government, you're probably right on the money..... I might well opt for a home smoothwall

I for one take responsibility for what my children do on my network, and believe it is the responsibility of any network provider to do the same where children have access to the internet. ISPs [some] provide parental controls which are at most moderately adequate, but really how many people actually use the controls provided? Perhaps the government ought to concentrate on what we can do to improve awareness of just how much explicit content is out there and how to control it, rather than just providing report after report detailing inadequacies..... (That's all they ever seem to do). So Mr government types, shut up complaining and pointing out what's wrong, and do something about it!! Like perhaps sack this year's foreign aid budget and bring about an awareness campaign and regulation on the standard of parental controls an ISP should provide......

I usually stay well away from politics, but in this instance I'll make an exception... They're all as bad as each other, back-stabbing spineless fools. If Labour had their way they'd spend us into oblivion, supporting the lazy, work shy, and generally everyone but the hardworking. Tories come into power and try to save us a few bob, but still fail to see the cuts are all in the wrong place and that really, they're all just blue-nosed wigs with a half-a##ed agenda...... And lib dems, I wouldn't give the vapour from my bodily returns..... I read a book a while back by Richard Littlejohn - To Hell in a Handcart.... And from my perspective, that's exactly what this country is heading into. Where are all the inspirational leaders of yesteryear like churchill, and chamberlain..... Oh, wait.
