Yes specifically in that order. They are set up so if one fails the next kinda takes over.

When you create it it gives me an option for To all DNS servers running on domain controllers in this forest To all DNS servers running on domain controllers in this domain To all DNS servers running in this domain (for windows 2000 compatibility) Which one should i use? @fairm010 I have just noticed it seems to work on my DC now fine but still has the security warning on the other desktops in the school. Is there a way to force the DNS update out to the other machines? Cheers

@nickbro Hi Nick, I have it working so that the URL now works in school and outside of school. But when i school it gives a certificate error. Outside of school it works fine. This is using the exact same URL via a shortcut on our VLE. The error says "This certificate cannot be verified up to a trusted certification authority" Any advice would be great thanks. I really want to use the room bookings this year.

Right, i can access the site internally via the URL now. But for some reason still getting a certificate warning :S Same URL externally, no problems. Any ideas?

Hi As far as policies go I just get the students and staff to sign a AUP (Acceptable Use policy) which is done automatially through RMMC. The Staff also have to sign a social networking policy and the students have a bullying policy which is all done digitally to save on printing costs. We normally create all the staff logins and have them printed on a sheet with the IT support procedure and contact details on should they have any issues. Then when tehy come in we just give them the sheet of paper and tell them to login and change all the passwords ASAP. Student logins are created over summer and follow the usual format. surname + First initial + Year of leaving. I then email all IT staff a document confirming their creation and default passwords along with any usernames that cannot follow the standard format due to duplicates. They then get the students logged in, in their first IT lesson.

Hi I can access the server via the IP address. But it still comes up with the certificate warning whether using the startssl certificate (as it is issued to schoolname.co.uk). Is there anyway to prevent the certificate warning when accessing via IP for computers on the domain? Thanks

Hi I set up HAP recently and had it running on a server signed certificate for a while whilst testing it. That worked but you needed to click confirm past the security warning. I have now set it up with an external URL and a free certificate from startssl. This works externally fine but i still cannot access it internally without the certificate warning. Externally i access it using https://hap.schoolname.co.uk If i try this address in work it just fails to load. Any ideas? I think i have missed something as it's my first time playing around with SSL certificates and IIS. Cheers

You legend looks like selecting the specific driver to use has worked. Build has got further and now assigning packages. Wonder why it wouldn't find it automatically :S

Thanks @foofighterjim. I have successfully updated our build disks so we now have PE3.1 available. We are getting closer as it now allows the computer to start the build process and get an IP, download and install the OS. But when it restarts it doesn't get the IP address back and eventually crashes out saying missing driver again. We seem to have imported all the drivers we can find :S Any advice? Cheers

Hi yes we added the driver and then replaced the WIM file in WDS. We have tried that. Just installed windows 7 professional and extracted the network driver and that has still not worked. Our LEA said we will need to find a Vista driver for it but they do not seem to be available from Lenovo or Intel.

Hi We have just had some Lenovo M73 tiny computers delivered. We are getting a build error saying missing driver so we have downloaded the driver from the lenovo site and extracted the INF and created a new build disk etc but it still fails with the same error. Does anyone have the Lenovo M73's on CC4 Windows 7 SP1? Do you have the exact driver you are using? Or any other things we can try. The missing driver is PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_153B&SUBSYS_309E17AA&REV_04 Thanks

We are getting a new NAS server in the summer and i am just planning the migration but was wondering what best practices are for the migration and managing it. The network i have inherited has 4 shared drives. 2 staff shares and 2 student shares. They are a mess with all staff allowed to read and write everywhere. To cut a long story short the previous guy started a migration to this NAS from storing the files on the server itself and then never completed it and leaving the four shares. Hence why the shares are duplicated. I want just two shared drives, Staff Resources and Student Resources. Questions - How would you migrate? What would the best way to carry out this migration be? Set up a new structure with permissions and ask staff to copy over things by a deadline Organise a meeting with the head of each department to work out the migration Just copy everything over myself We are going to be increasing from 1TB to 7TB of useable space. Would you impose a quota per department? Per user? Or limit the amount of storage seen by everyone? Or leave it as 7TB available. Have you imposed a structure on all departments? E.g. English >Department Minutes >Lesson Planning >Resources >Assessment and Tracking Any thoughts and advice on how you do it would be great thanks.
